    Hi Everyone,

Car is a 1985 Mondial QV Cabriolet Euro. When I purchased the car a couple years ago none of the windows would move with the switches but I could hear the driver side trying. Lubing the track on the driver side was all it took to get it working but it was the only one this worked for. The other three I was able to confirm function as I used a motorcycle battery to put the windows up (prior they were always down) which is where they now remain. When I originally checked voltage at the passenger front and rear, and driver rear, the voltage (going off of memory... it has been about a month now) was sub 10V from what I remember and dropped lower when attempting to use the windows. I installed a window accelerator (the relay thing that creates a better ground) at each window and this made absolutely no difference. At some point in this process, I don't remember when, the voltage dropped down to like 3V and at one point under 1V. The three windows do nothing whether pressing up or down on the switch and as mentioned for some reason now the voltage is quite low and changes (I have even tried removing the accelerators and the situation is the same).

My BIG question: At this point I am considering biting the bullet and getting a rebuilt fuse box from GT Car Parts in Arizona. My brake lights are also not properly functioning (which I had posted about prior) and I noticed two wires at one of the white connecters melted enough that as a repair by someone prior they removed it from the white connector and created a male/female spade end through the white connector.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts if I should keep trying to fix this or if I am better off going with the rebuilt fuse box.

GT's fuse box was the best investment I have made during ownership of my 1987. Everything that didn't want to work started working after the swap, and its been that way for over two years now.

Assuming same wiring to 87 3.2. Fuses 19+20 are the window motor fuses. 24 is the right hand, then count back.
Relay H is for the window motors, top row 2nd from right bosch pt no 0332014113. Same as relays D,E+F. 2nd, 3rd, 4th from left in top row
Measure the volt supply to the relay H as a starting point

The wiring diagram is very simple , just a couple of switches, motors, fuses and one relay. I would pull the relay and see if you are getting a steady 12 volt supply. Swap over another relay the same pt no. Each window switch has a black wire and you should get a reading to earth.

I agree with everyone else in the sense that before you spend the money get out a volt meter. I would be more systematic about it though. In any event test each window circuit and see where the power loss is. Very possibly more than a single point but confirm and repair voltage losses. Switches and relays are high on the list.

    Thanks everyone for the replies.

Fuses are good. I think I tried switching some relays around. I am have not found the wiring schematics in some of the various resources to be very clear. Based on some of the additional info shared here, it sounds like I have a couple more things to try before just going with a fuse box rebuild. I appreciate the help thanks!

Mike32, I am either a big time noob and cannot figure it out or do not have forum privileges to send private messages. Shoot me an email if you don't mind at "shanegutbrod" at "gmail.com". Thanks much!

Bite the bullet and do the upgrade to a GT parts box, replace all the relays and fuses with modern units, put new gold spade connectors on the burned connections and spray everything you can find switches, connectors with deoxit. Most electrical problems seem to always trace back to the fuse box! First place I check if anything electrical is not working correctly. If you still have the old metal relays, replace them all!

Before I spent money on any potential fixes, I would dis-assemble the wire spool and clean out all the hard dried gunk.
Fixed both my windows in a day.
