I have a file on my desktop that won't delete. It was a .doc file I tried to download/export from Google Docs.

In the properties it just says "File, 0 Bytes".

When I try to delete it, it says "The specified file cannot be found".

I have tried "cutting" it and clicking "refresh" on the desktop (which has worked when this has happened before) but no luck.

Any ideas??? BTW, I get my new 27" iMac in 2 weeks... so hopefully this is my last Windows head shaker.

There are a bunch of "file killers" out there. Since I don't know your abilities and since I don't have any links handy I'll suggest this one:
Get a copy of Malwarebytes Antimalware from malwarebytes.org
When you install it there will be a tab for "more tools". Click on that tab and then down at the bottom you will see a section for FileAssassin and a button "run tool". Try that.

Have you done a proper shutdown and restart? Try a disk defrag, then delete it.

Google for "delete locked file" and try a tool out.
