I posted this in the Texas section too, but thought I'd dupe it here as well in case any locals (or ex-locals) might not check in the regional threads and it might get more traction here...

My 355 windshield has developed cracks around the rear-view mirror mount which are now growing in the summer heat/nighttime cool so it looks like it's time to replace it.

I've got a line on sourcing the OEM glass (ProSourceIntl), but my next question is who locally is qualified to install it? Anyone replace the glass in their FCar in the Austin area?

Interesting. I am still waiting for a 348 mirror and very glad I was careful with the 3M Pep Boys generic mirrors. The white sticky pad is not strong enough. The foam tears and stretches under load and vibration. Worse in the heat. Air bubbles get trapped trying to stick them on, reducing the surface adhesion. I went through several tries to come up with a temp fix. Eventually, heavily scoring the metal button and a larger PVC plate about 2 inches square did the trick. JB weld the button to the pvc plate. Then use black 3M extreme mounting tape, 2 strips in a 2 in square to stick the plate to the windshield. This is reversible with a little effort and will not damage the windshield. Rutlands has a 348 mirror for $395. All others back ordered from Maranello for over 2 months.

Don't know the Austin area but we have 2 or 3 Ferrari shops around here including the dealer. I had to take my car there to get the rears aligned with shims. Had the Miata windshield replaced by Safelight on the same automile. They goofed on the wrong wiper blades and broke the plastic wiper cowl too but that's a known weak item. Otherwise glass is good and seal is tight.
