I had Clearplex installed and wa not happy. Distorted too much.

My detailers took it out and refunded me. Then they installed Stek. I love it. But I heard they have lately had issues with it and have paused it

Just like blacked out front side windows on any vehicles used on public roads, it might be smart to check with NHTSA regulations and/or local jurisdictions for legality of applying any film, especially any that can darken or otherwise distort drivers front and side view visibility.
It may even become an issue with your insurance carrier in case of any accident/collision claim.

Any experience with glass protection film to reduce UV (reduce sun damage to alcantara, stitching, etc)?

Yes. It's the best thing you can do to protect interiors. Get a high end film that not only blocks UV (they all do that) but IR (heat). I like XPels top of the line film right now

clearest on windshield. Darker on sides and back. Do not tint the window if it’s over the engine bay as it will retain heat

I just had film installed on my new Portofino M and it is !00% clear and perfect. The name is "Bray Windshield Stretch"; it cost me $600. Perfect!

My last car was done with Clearplex and I was very dissatisfied.
