This may apply to several models. I may not be sane, but the 89 Mondial t Cab is used as a daily driver. I still want to keep it looking like new. On the two day recent drive from Utah to Delaware (and I never drive above 50 mph :=) ), a hair line crack started on the passenger top side of the windshield. There is no noticeable chip and the crack can be seen but not felt. Several people recommended Union Auto Glass in Little Italy, Willington or in Newark. While looking for them, got lost (did not have the GPS with me) and stopped at the Hotel DuPont. The person at the desk had his windshield replaced at Union. At Union, they said it would be $145 to $185 plus the cost of the new windshield. There is no aftermarket glass (want Ferrari anyway) and it cannot be repaired. Another place says they can repair it; will check it out; but I doubt it. Went to the Ferrari place just south of Philly cannot think of their name now. They are getting a price for me. What should I expect to pay? Will have to go across the Big Pond in the spring or early summer. Will be shipping back a 40 foot container. Could easily put a windshield in it. How much would I probably save buying it in Europe and where are the best places to buy things like this over there? In the big snow storm 8 days ago, had to go out for steaks and the Mondial t handled great. Only 4 WDs were doing better. My Mondial t has the Pilot Sport tires on it. So far the Mondial t starts great even when cold soaked down to about -10 F. I grew up in the poor side of the tracks not knowing about things like Ferraris. I cannot say that the slice of the pie of life that I have experienced is correct, but so far my experiences with dealers are: Utah great Scottsdale great Ohio joke Philly - great
I'm not sure how to answer your question other than to say check the usual sources. I can tell you though that posting the same question in a bunch of forums will not get you an anwer any faster. This will probably be pointed out by a moderator shortly. As far as the windshield, I have heard that people have been able to source them from local glass shops. If not check here for some of the usual resources.. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28256
Cost for the windshield is about $1,000 and figure another $1,000 for the replacement trim. This is based upon the costs on my '88 Mondial coupe. Hope this helps. Tom
I have an extra T OEM replacement trim...I picked it up thinking I would need it and then I didn't. PM me if you are interested...
