Guys (and gals), I just finalized plans for the 2006 "Wings & Wheels" car show. The show will be July 21, 22 and 23 inside the Muskegon Air Show and you are all invited. Each registered vehicle's owner will receive 6 tickets for the show so that you and a guest can attend the show all 3 days if you wish. We will have 15,000 sq ft this year instead of 5000, so we will have room for several more cars. As a special added feature this year, I have Jay Koka coming to the show to display some of his awesome Ferrari/exotic car artwork. I am VERY excited to have such a top notch artist at this event! Please check out his website at www.jaykokastudio.com.
I paid out a lot of money out of my own pocket at this past show so unfortunately I have to ask for $25 per car as an entrance fee to help offset my costs. I know it is still very early but please let me know as soon as you can if you plan to attend. I have included some photos that Andreas took at the '05 show as well as some hotel information. As an option to get here, you can take the Lake Express car ferry to Muskegon (which is a 2.5 hr. ride) as the Chicago gang did last year by going to their site: www.lake-express.com.
    Hotels:
    1) Amerihost Inn (231) 798-0220 Very nice clean place, about 5 years old located 1 mile east of airport. No views of anything.
    2) Holiday Inn (616) 846-1000 Nice place on Spring Lake w/ awesome views (Andreas/Karen and Dave Bendl stayed here in '05).
    3) Shoreline Inn & Suites (231) 727-8483 1 year old VERY nice place located 4 miles north of airport in downtown w/ great views of Muskegon Lake www.shorelineinn.com (Frank/Frankie stayed here in '05).
    4) Comfort Inn (231) 739-9092 8 years old, very clean no frills 3 miles n.e. of airport.
I will update this thread monthly as a reminder to you. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks, Jerry.

FOC Midwest officially supports this event and it will count towards the 2006 Gumball trophy. FOC Midwest members will be reimbursed for the $ 25 participation fee through the club.

I'd like to encourage everybody to participate in this great event. Aside from the fun of the spectacular air show, camraderie and some nice sea food dining, this weekend gives one the chance of doing a real road trip in the Ferrari.

Personally I thought the chance of being able to place your car next to a plane for a quick photo op was the best. Where else can you take a shot like this?

Guys and gals, so far we have Frank and Andreas from your Chicago area confirmed for the show in July. Frank is bringing his 308 and Andreas possibly his other V8. Can I get some more commitments?? Jay Koka will be making a limited edition custom print for this show and I have CONFIRMATION that the Batmobile will be there!! This is one of 3 original Batmobiles used in the "Batman Returns" movie w/ Michael Keaton.

OH Yeah!!! (in the voice from 'Ferris Buellers day Off'....:) ) Frankie and I are DEFINITELY going again this Year! That was an Awesome Trip, Event, Air Show. You can get right up to the Jets...F-16's, ETC....And go in some of the big Planes. Very close contact. The Pilots even lifted my Son up and into some of the smaller planes. He was totally in heaven, not even counting meeting THE Blue Angel Pilots, getting Autographs and Photo's! (I was pretty excited about that myself....:) ) They also have some very cool Military Weaponry that you can check out....Some nice .50 cal Machine Guns...:)

Thay also had some Jet Trucks making some fiery passes along the runway. We were so close that you could really feel the heat from them.

They have many really good Food Vendors, and other Merchandise Vendors, too.

I am not sure yet as to whether we will be taking the Ferry again. Or just having a caravan drive up there. I believe that the latter may be the case, so far, anyway.

I have put in my vacation request to make that a long weekend. There should be no reason the GTO is not finished by then.

I am not sure about the little Lambo Urraco, Chelle will have to confirm at a later date on it.

And if there is still thoughts on taking cars down the runway, I am all for it!! :)

Your GTO could take on a F16 and probably lead for the first 100 yards.

Yep, I think I could whoop him off the line, but it would be very short lived, especially seeing as I need to start using the brakes or I would be going for a swim shortly after! :) I am going to have to get reaquainted with right hand shifting again, and with those racing seats, not very much room for arm movements.

Takes 5 minutes. My first real race was a car with RHD, no biggie. But I'm almost ambidextrous anyway.

That was a fantastic spot. Right up close to the Action. Great for Photos. And they had lots of good Food and Drinks. I will take 2 spots, if anyone else would like to. Just need 4 more. And if we can get more than just 1 table, that would be better!

Jerry, This event was not listed in the Central States Regional Action section of the latest FCA News Bulletin. Do you not want to list it there? Do you know how many cars you will be able to fit into the larger area this year?

I'm not an FCA member, but would love to list it in there. Tell me what I need to do to make it happen. I will be able to fit about 30 cars this year as I have double the space as last year. Are your parents and kids going to be able to make it this year?

Jerry, I will make some phone calls to see what we need to do. I will also send a note to the guy that runs the Michigan Chapter of the FCA to see if he will send a note out and put it on their website.
Yes I am planning on it, and some of the kids will be there. My parents and my Uncle are also planning on being there. A guy here in Hudsonville has a 360 but he winters in FL so I will talk to him when he gets back in the spring. If we don't get 30 cars there this year we are doing something wrong.

As an incentive you can tell them that this is a unique opportunity to get a picture of their supercar next to a real fighter jet.

I'm planning on doing another round of those (see pic below as an example), but this time with different cars. I even volunteer to park Jerry's TR and his father's 348 and your friend's 360 for a good photo shot. That's the kind of friend I am. Selfless to the bone...

FYI, here is what Jay Koka is proposing for the Wings & Wheels print for the show. I may have him change the 430 to red, but other than that I think it is awesome.

    That looks awesome!

I always wante a Koka print and this is the one to get. Any word yet on the pricing? I'll probably have to get multiples, this makes a great gift.

I don't mind the yellow actually. Why not red?

But this brings up actually the real issue: What about it? Can we drag race a F16 this year? Can we? Jerry? I don't think all of us should try that, but at least the most powerful of the Ferraris we will have (like your TR or your dad's 348). I'd love to see at least one car go against the jet. In that good old Maranello tradition of Gilles Villeneuve, Michael Schumacher vs the Italian acro squadra.

I wish I could give you an answer right now Andreas, but the FAA has not given it's permission yet, and they work very S L O W L Y. All I can tell you is that the show organizer and I are both working on it very hard. The prints will be around $100/ea and he is only making 50 of them. Each will be numbered and signed. I currently have 2 of his other prints in my house as his works are my favs. Also, no promises but I am working on getting an Enzo to the show. I'll keep you posted!

Fantastico! Jerry! Yes, I will definitely want a few of those Prints meself.

An Enzo Vs. the Jet.....Now THAT would be pretty freakin' cool!

BTW...Sorry that I haven't sent out the Dashplaque and Check yet. I have been scrambling to get my Business finally, "off the ground" so to speak...:)

But I have made Monday my Post Office day...I have a few other plaques to send out and some other stuff. So you will definitely get everything this week.

BTW...You have two kids here...a big giant one and a little one....coincidentally, both named Frank. That cannot wait until this years show!...:)
