Gents, haven't been on in a year or so, in fact i forgot my password, changed email and had to set up a new account...

Anyhow, the old 348 has been pretty much indestructible the last few years, but now the stupid secondary arm pin on the wipers has broken. I saw a few threads about trying to drill it out and put in a screw, I was planning on using a screw with an internal allen and outside that would fit the bronze bushing pretty closely. However, the darn thing is hard as a rock and I don't have good enough bits to drill it. I did see a post drilling the top and pressing out the pin and replacing with a new machined one.

That being said, does anyone have a solution other than buying a new one or having to machine a new pin and press it in? VA inspection runs out this month and I'm going to have to do something with it...

If your drills wont touch it, then look for a set of cobalt drills- not sure what u r trying to drill but these drill out the real tough stuff

the arm is not hardened steel or anything, so it should be drill-able with some nice new bits. start small and work your way up.

Also you can always find wiper arms on ebay. Drivers sides seem to be more rare and therefore more $. If you just need a quick fix for inspection, a passenger side wiper arm does work on the drivers side without conflicting/interfering

I had the same Problem on my 355 one week ago. Result was an broken Pin. I tried to drill the Pin out but there was no chance doing that. The pin at its self its extreme hard, doesn't even get impressed by trying drill it out. A friend of mine have an mecanic shop and will try in the next time to fix it....but he told me you need special tools to do that.

My Problem was that i needed a new one fast, cause i travelled on friday on a road trip to italy. I had to get a new one and had the luck to find one in Switzerland. The Ferrari Dealer told me there are only 4 new one world wide in hes Online List and 18 still in Maranello.

This wiper arms getting now really rare and the price is extrem high. Try to find a used one . Its one on ebay.com for 200 Dollar. Cheaper you doesn't find one. I would get this one but with shipping to europe there was no chance to have it at the right time here.

    A friend told me.

If you dont have time you need money ;)

    Good luck

This also happened on my 348. The car was in Arizona, likely never saw rain. The pin just seized. Advice is to carefully take off the wiper and lube the pin.

My guess for the reason my broke is that the pin slid up a bit and jammed up on the notch that it has to bypass to sit into place. Mine doesn't see any rain either.
