The wipers on my Dino are driving me crazy. For more than a year I have had to remove the passenger wiper and drive with just the driver side wiper, because they invariably went crazy and locked together when they were both present.

Many trips to my friendly mechanic have resulted in a rewired wiper engine, then a new engine, then many rebuilds, but no success...

Finally we seem to have found the problem. There is a small plastic wheel on the passenger side with damaged teeth!

Where do I find a wheel like that one? What is the part number? I cannot seem to find it in my spare parts books.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks and Cheers,

    Julio

Yes, when I took mine apart to examine it, the grease also had that same old, hardened yellow "caked up" look to it. Upon repair, clean that stuff out and use a modern synthetic, like Mobil 1 grease.

The gear has a resemblance to the plastic electric window drive gears in the Maserati Bora and Merak which are known to fail over time. Several owners had those crack and Jacques in LA makes new ones out of metal for us (I recall them having 39 teeth). Better check with him to be sure they are interchangeable.

He is known to fabricate items which can not be sourced, be sure to ask.
