I am trying to find info on the two harness LH and RH side rear tunnel behind the seats if they are all the same for different years and interchangeable? They have the fuses and relays and tie into the immobilizer and F1 computer.
Does anyone know if an 01 harness works on the 05?

what car? Just look at eurospares for the part numbers on both and you can find out...

I see part number 182200 gets replaced by 198555. The later part number coming from my car an 05 but the early number an 01 as an example. If the part was superseded is there a difference in the wiring between the years? Does it work on the early cars adapting the later wiring but perhaps doesn't work for the later 05? I want to make sure if I replace this harness with the earlier part number version it will still work properly? I think it should be fine, but I know there are many more knowledgeable people here.
Could I in theory grab bits and pieces of the wiring from different years of the 360's and they be interchangeable?

There are differences in wiring over the years (extra wires were added to various systems), but off the top of my head, I can't remember what was changed. Also, I'm not sure if the extra wires were applicable to these #005 (RH) and #006 (LH) sections.

The #006 is divided into vehicle assembly numbers, so I would be careful there, too. The parts manual doesn't mention backwards/forwards compatablity.

Do you have a Modena or Spider?

Exactly, its the different systems aspect and going backwards in production date I'm worried about.

At the moment, I can only think of the:

brake pedal switch changing from 3 pins to 4 pins
    differences in wiper control wiring
differences in door wiring (relating to the interior handle)... definitely not part of #005 and #006

I did come across a difference recently, but I'm having a senior moment on that.

(EDIT: Disregard that last comment... it was related to engine grounds, but it was a Spider/Coupe variation)

    Is the harness not repairable?

I have some corrosion on the connectors. I gave a small attempt to clean a few, but it would be worth my time and effort to just replace them if I can. I might just take the chance and give it a try on the earlier part numbers.

How could you be sure that a second hand harness wasn't as bad? I've seen some pretty bad examples, including plugs torn off.

I went for a second hand harness on my F355 for engine accessories, but made sure I did wiring checks on all the wires before fitting it. There are a lot of wires on those 5 & 6 harnesses.

Why would you not de-pin the corroded connectors, use something like deoxit and some scuff pad on the connectors. Qavion brings up a good point, how do you know a second hand harness is good and won't introduce new gremlins and you are back to square one.

I tried deoxit on a couple of the problem areas, and that stuff is pretty helpful but mine are just too far gone. It would be easier to build new harnesses from scratch, and I really dont want to do that right now or have the time. I found a good deal on the 2 harnesses RH and LH tunnel with all fuses and relays in seemingly good condition. The ones I picked up are from an 01 so I will report back once I have installed them.
