What was the power source for the wireless camera? Or was it just wireless to the head unit?

    It was hard wired

But I am not looking to change out the stereo and was looking to add a small hand held monitor and camera for back up purposes

I installed a wireless wifi backup camera that is wrking well..

I connected up using the license plate lights and installed in the small space where the light goes. It will connect to any phone or device with wifi. I initailly used my phone and have since bought a 7 inch tablet and have mountd below the a/c unit.. I original had some issues with the pic pausing/freezing, but found that was more related to my samsung galaxy II with a lot on installed aps. Once I went to the tablet with minumum apps installed, it was better.

Now I don't think the picture is as good as a wired unit, which I have in other cars, but with the easy of hookup, its better than nothing...

here is the version I installed

iPhone Android iPad WIFI car backup camera

    Here are some pics:

And there is an app that is installed along with it to view the picture..

Install time took about 30 minutes. Very easy to do. Watch the video on the web site. Shows how easy it is to hookup and use. Fyi i did a test run by connecting the camera and checking out the picture on the phone. That looked good. Did that before i did the actual install. Very happy with how easy it was to do and the results.. it fit so tight in the light compartment, i did have to come up with any mount.
The camera wire is just run through the gap where the light box is. I didnt want to drill a hole in the bumper or light.

Nice David. I looked for one of these a few months ago and couldn't find one.

Just ordered it. Can't wait to try it out. Will probably just use my iphone though.

It will work well with a iphone, i tried it with a friends iphone when it was freezing alittle on my 2 year old sammy and it looked good on the iphone. Pm me if you have any questions when u install. But it should be easy. I did tie rap the cables and then rapped in electrical tap to keep it all together..

Can you post a picture of the clip you use to fix the tablet in place. How sturdy is it?

one of the pictures shows i tapped into the license plate light. i just wiring the power and ground into the leads on the light.. that is the red and black wires in the third picture.. it makes for an easy hookup, the downside is you have to turn on the lights to provide power. i would have perferred a power source by the key turning on, but there was one close to the area i was working...

I have yet to install it in my 360. It sticks out too much from above the license plate, so no easy install there. The challenge grill holes are not big enough to give you a good picture and I do not want to cut a hole in it, so that is out. I am looking at mounting it in the rear diffuser. I bought an extra one to play around with. Problem is, I need to remove the bumper to install it. Might be able to get away with just removing the bottom tray, but I am not sure.

Mine sticks out a bit, but with a dark colored car, it doesn't bother me. I like that no modification of the car was needed.

David, did you stick the Velcro to the carpet or does the Velcro on the round disk stick directly on the carper without anything else being used?
    Thanks
