Hi, has someone experience with the wireless boxes for Apple CarPlay or android.
I want to make my factory CarPlay wireless.
But Ferrari told me now twice, they working on it but is impossible to make it now.
Please let me know your experience with the boxes Like Ottocast, Carluex etc.
    Thanks

I've posted about it elsewhere (https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/149149610/) but If you are asking about the Portofino M this works perfectly in my wife's Portofino M for Android Auto: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B2R7NQ1J?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. Inexpensive and doesn't take up much room.

When I got my CarPlay moved to the centre console, at first it worked wirelessly. Then wireless stopped working and now it requires the cable to work. Ferrari can do it but they don’t seem to be in a hurry to sort it.

It happened to me as well. Remove the car from CarPlay and reconnect worked for me.

I have one of these Car2Play dongles my 2020 Corvette C8. It works well but is not "flawless". Sometimes it takes a while to connect. But the Chevy software I'm sure is much different than what is in the Ferrari. YMMV.

However, my point is "its not perfect" and I have unplugged it and replugged it in a few times in the 2 years I've had it. I do use it everyday though. I like using Waze.

You might try to plug the box into another vehicle with Apple Car play and see it it will work. It might be the dongle.

Another thing to try: If you have more than one USB port try using it in same port that you use it wired. If it works wired in that particular port, the dongle should also work -- unless the software detects and blocks it.

As a side note, I have no idea why these don't come with it built in. Chevy has had wireless car play since the 2021 model year. The new Alfa Romeo Tonale SUV has it standard / no cost.

Hey, it worked. Thank you. My Roma now has wireless CarPlay on the centre console. I couldn’t be happier. :):):):)

Another work around if your wireless CarPlay drops out is to press and hold the Voice Control button on the steering wheel until CarPlay starts up. This worked for me and is what Apple recommends. You can check it out on your iPhone by going to Settings>General>CarPlay “If your car supports wireless CarPlay, press and hold the voice control button on your steering wheel to start CarPlay setup”

Wow! May I ask how did you move the CarPlay from the dashboard to the center console?

A software update released from Ferrari several years ago applicable to all Roma cars removed “view max” from the steering wheel, moved CarPlay to the centre console and improved stability generally by limiting functionality from the passenger display.

The software version should be at 93.58, or later, as shown in the main dash. Updates are only available from a franchised F dealer. Any applicable update should be applied as a matter of course at any service.
