I'm testing this AT&T USB AirCard for the weekend. Can plug to desktop and eliminate DSL at my office. Works faster than dial-up on a good cell signal. Worked like slow dial-up when my cell phone wouldn't get out. Is supposed to be faster than broadband in areas with G3 tower technology. Could plug to any computer with software installed. I'm not a trained tech guy but so far I like. Anyone?

I've been using AllTel's AirCard for about a month and it works pretty well for laptops. Same rules apply when experiencing cell phone interference and dropped calls since it's basically a "dial-up" service. My girlfriend and I were out hunting properties one weekend and we were able to research them on the fly; property records and such...

I've got a bunch of Spring EVDO cards when they did the free card with plan deal.

70$/month or so, I like it. Gives me coverage in the middle of no-where Texas :)

Can't wait for higher speeds though -- really really want something along the lines of at least Cable (5mbit or so).

I have Verizon EVDO service and connect through my Blackberry 8703e (tethered to my T60 Thinkpad). Works okay - speedtest was showing me 468k/sec down and 450k/sec uploads. Not a speed demon, but it works.

I have used Verizon's air card for two years. It's nice to log on anyplace I get a cell signal.
