I am trying to figure out how to get the stereo working in my car. The deck works fine and I finally located the (very dirty) amps behind the passenger seat footwell. They are not receiving power. There is a second red line leading from the battery which I think is their power line (first pic). It is receiving power at the battery, but there is no voltage at the amps. The line from the battery disappears under the battery area (second pic) and reappears in the footwell (last 2 pics) and I can't figure out how to access it in between.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Thanks much!

What about that switch. Has it been turned on? Have you checked to see that it works?

To access the wiring into the footwell, I think that you have to remove the fiberglass liner around the spare tire. That will give access to the brake reservoir , vent valves etc. (cowl area) that's where they usually run the wires.- see photo of the liner removed and where the wires usually go.(that's where mine were for the "professionally " installed stereo.
(* The extra wires and relay in the photo have been removed- back to stock now.)

    Thanks guys.

Yes the unit is on. There is a chance the amps don't work, but I am using a meter to check the voltage in the power line and there isn't any at the amp.

I already have tire cowel off and the gasket the red wire goes through seems to emerge even blow that (the level where the battery is) so no help there. Maybe if I removed the battery I could reach in? Don't think so, though.

Remove the fender liner on the passenger side and you should be able to see how the wire goes.

Thanks Steve, but I figured it out. It's that big switch on the seen in the second pic (blurry). I though that was part of the OEM equipment. I have a lot of learning to do in this car, but taking everything apart to fix this was a great first step.
