Another giant step towards mediocrity. Is there a professional franchise in the USA that's run worse than this one? I hear they are gonna re-draft Johnny Manziel. No one explained to them they still own the rights to the guy. Or maybe Colt McCoy Or Brandon Weeden Or Cody Kessler. Maybe they'll draft LeBron. He might make a decent tight end. Sad. Plenty of picks, and yet you can guarantee they'll still stink, not three, not four, not five, not six but at least seven years from now. D
You replied as you did to his? ROTFLOL Clv needs to get a replacement for Joe Thomas, or that Chubb guy. I figure it this way: they say five teams need a QB and will get one this year, but what about next year? Will there be no QB's worth taking? Will nobody need one? I heard one clown say today that Clv needs to take a QB at both 1 AND 4 - one of them has to be good? Everyone seems to love Sam Darnold - I don't. When is the last time a highly touted USC QB did well in the NFL? (look back 15 years) NONE of them since then has been great, one of them was OK, but it was more of a product of the system (team) he was in (New England). CLV needs a DL, LT and a great CB. They can get a QB next year.
Yes but, if they DON'T pick a QB in round one, they will catch unholy hell from the fans and media. You are 100% correct, there are always a couple of good QB's in the draft, but they have a rare opportunity to get a QB, AND a tackle and defensive lineman and still have a 3rd round pick to spend on a corner. There's always the remote chance that without a new QB, they play just well enough NOT to get a high draft choice in the 1st round next year, and they don't get a shot at a real potential game changer at QB. I'd pick a QB 1st, then get a DT, then an LT. D
Cleveland should go defense with both of their first round picks. I'm not impressed with any of the available quarterbacks.
Who is Josh Brown???? Funny - neither am I. They have Tyrod Taylor - who isn't bad - they just need a decent backup for him.
Juxtaposed my Joshes. Josh Allen not Josh Brown. Josh Brown in the Giants kicker, who got suspended, or tossed, from the NFL for purportedly beating up his wife. Must have slipped a football gear on that one. D
I think they'll take either Darnold or Barkley. But I think that in the long run, either Allen or Rosen will make the best pro of this year's QB lot.
I used to think they would take Barkley too, but they had the 10th best running game last year, they have Crowelll and Carlos Hyde, I think they add to the Defense first. They have a Tyrod Taylor, they can wait on a QB, until even next year. At least that's my logic - if 'everyone' that NEEDS a QB takes one this year, the world is open for CLV to take one next year - and there will be a couple of them worth taking next year. Now, I think Crowell is a J/A off the field, but he can run, and Hyde can run - when healthy.. CLV needs defense more than a QB right now.
That's why they should go offensive line or the best defensive athletes available when they pick all the way down to the 4th round. John Madden's theory on players was to have the best available "O" line, because they can then plug in any decent running back and give any decent QB time to throw, and have the best available cornerbacks because they could cover the wide receivers one-on-one, therefore allowing linebackers and safeties the opportunity to blitz like crazy.
I think they will take Darnold - which I think is a mistake. I would take Chubb first, and probably Denzel Ward fourth. They don't NEED a QB or a RB this year, they had the 10th best running game in the league last year, they are loaded at skill positions, they NEED a LT, CB and DE, not sure how many awesome LT's there are. The T from Oklahoma that was touted as the best - that totally flopped at the combine - gave the excuse that he just wasn't ready, or wasn't into it, or some dumbass answer like that. If you show up at your job interview like that, you don't deserve the job...
Uh, ummm, uh,....I got nothing. They are the gold standard in American sport putridity. More to the point. They should draft Barkley no. 1. And the best available QB at no. 4. T
Maybe they move to Baltimore . . . oh wait . . . that's been done. And they promptly won a Super Bowl soon after.
Baker Mayfield. Makes perfect sense. Long standing Cleveland tradition, take the WORST QB in the draft with a high 1st round pick. 6 footer who runs a 4.9 40. Woo hoo, he's gonna be fuuun to watch crash and burn. The Heisman was probably already the kiss of death, but going to Cleveland should finish him off. D
I don't think Mayfield is even close to Manziel. Or the other way around. I still think CLV didn't need a QB in THIS draft, they need a defense. Cleveland had leads in the 4th qtr in 8 games last year, and could not stop the other team, they need DEFENSE. Well, I was half-right when I said they would take Denzel Ward, most of the draft 'pros' thought it was an odd choice, do these guys not look to see what the NEED is? They sure seem able to figure out who NEEDS a QB, but no other position?
