Wolfgang, I assumed I was picking you up. At least that is my plan. I am not sure if you will need a rental, since I plan on taking you araound Friday and Saturday and I assume Rob was doing the same for Sunday for the MSR thing. You should then be able to get a shuttle from the hotel to the airport on Monday. Okay? As for hotel, I would pick the nicest that is closest to the convention. It will also depend on your budget. Some of the guys that have been in D longer may have suggestions. Let me know if this is okay or if we need to adjust. Nick
Howdy Nick, sounds wonderful & perfect What a great gesture of you. And for sure, no problem to get a shuttle or cab back to the airport on Monday.
Yes, I would love for you to stay with Jennie and I. Friday I have to work until 5pm, but would like to go out with everyone that night. Saturday I will probably work on FC most of the day, but that night Jennie and I are hosting a couple people over for dinner so I can't go out with the group. You can come over any time you want. No curfew! You are more than welcome to have dinner with us, but I think Nick has bigger and better things planned for you. Hopefully Sunday will still work out for a trip to MSR, if it is an open member day. Looking forward to the weekend.
Thanks a lot Rob, I`m realy looking forward to meet you and Jennie this time...and hopefully many other TX f-chatters. Looking forward and we will stay in touch. wolfgang
I should be able to get free Friday night, but Saturday is booked for me as well. Should we take Wolfgang to the official F-Chat restaurant? Humperdinks on NW Hwy?
Well, it IS pretty convenient to the "other" place. Of course, Mercado Juarez would be even more convenient...
Hotel Reservation already done. I`ll stay from Friday - Monday: Marriott Renaissance Dallas Hotel 2222 Stemmons Freeway Dallas, TX 75207 USA Phone: 1 214-631-2222 Fax: 1 214-905-3814 Cell Wolfgang (tri-band): +49 170-1647222 or leave a message at the desk. The hotel is close to the Market Hall (Guitar Show) and its the headquarter hotel for the Dallas Guitar Show Exhibitors. I have been there several times and think its a good one and hopefully close enough to all the other locations we wanna go/join over the weekend. CU Wolfgang
Wolfgang, That hotel is perfect. I will pick you and your friend up and take you guys to the hotel so you can show and relax some, you'll need it (Nick's Grappa Revenge)! Then we can go to Lambo and then to dinner. Guys, Everyone can meet us at Lambo or meet us later for dinner but I will need a head count of who is coming. As for dinner that Friday, at Wolfgangs request, I was planning a steak night. I was thinking Pappas Bros or Nick and Sam's. Preferences? Or we could do Mexican night on Friday and Steak on Saturday. As for Mexican, I was thinking Mi Cocina. Its not authentic but has locations all over and is very popular. I am very open to suggestions here. What's that Mexican restaurant by Samba Room? Anyway, let me know what everyone suggests. Nick
LOL, ooooh yes I know and I`m prepared. Well, advantage for you on Friday.....after a 10 hours flight and 24 hours on the road....mhmmm maybe the first or at least second bottle could kill me. Saturday - no problem
It's a chain, the location we go to is off Loop-12/NW Highway. Our local Ferrari club has probably had over 20 lunches, dinners, and happy hours there over the past 3 years. Norwoods use to be across the street, LoD is a few blocks away, and our old karting place was close. Last time we were there the waitress couldn't get Nick's order right at all, after trying 3+ times.
LOL, think I know the problem....last time at NINO, Villa Modena, Schwetzingen, Germany....Nino couldn`t get also Nicks order right after a bottle of GRAPPA....and a few bottles of fine italian red wine B4.
Why don't we do Mexican food Friday night since it's usually easier/faster/less hassle than a steak house. Is there a Pappasitos at the NW Hwy/I-35 restaurant row? It would be close to LoD.
How about Mercado Juarez? It's just a little bit west of where Humperdink's is on Loop 12/Northwest Hwy. Pretty good food, Cervesas, and they serve lots of big groups.
Might be too late, but Javier's is mexican and in your neck of the woods Nick. Oh, and he drives a Gallardo and used to drive the 360. Hit some bars like Nikita, Manhattan or Nick's smokehole samba Room.
I'm not in charge, but my personal preference is to do Mexican over somewhere around the LoD area and then continue the festivities at a "local(.)(.)establishment" Friday night. Since I'm not around Saturday night.
Pappasitos Dallas/Ft. Worth 10433 Lombardy Ln., Dallas, 75220 (214) 350-1970 · FAX (214) 350-1216 I personally like Mercado Juarez, but Pappasitos is cool too. Both are close to the other place. But it's Nick's show, sounds like he has a master plan for revenge.
I'll take no part in a revenge plan, but I'll go to Pappasitos or Mercados. I do like to watch revenge in action though.
LOL, oh yes and do I understand him very well. I`ll be prepared and yes I`ll take it (the revenge) the hard way No problem and I`m happy looking forward. What happened? I killed him last time in Germany @ NINO, Villa Modena with a few bottles of red wine (4 or 5 who knwos) and at least for the final countdown with a bottle of fine old GRAPPA.....NINO, the owner drove him back home in his hotel early in the morning Here are a few pics from this event....sadly no pics from the day after....Nick showed up in the afternoon. 1 pic.....afternoon at the Hockenheim Ring, pitlane 2 pic.....after dinner and some red wine 3 pic.....after the GRAPPA 4 pic..... the end of a perfect day....everybody got drunken Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Okay so let plan on Pappasitos for Friday night. Let say 6:30 or 7 pm? Any preference on time? Pappasitos Dallas/Ft. Worth 10433 Lombardy Ln., Dallas, 75220 (214) 350-1970 · FAX (214) 350-1216
60-90 minutes after LoD probably. Don't want to hold Jonathan away from business too much and you can tour LoD pretty well in 30-60 minutes.
