Wow..... Carmen Jorda: Women should aim for 'less physical' Formula E over Formula 1 The former development driver believes women can't hang with men in F1 http://autoweek.com/article/formula-one/carmen-jorda-women-should-aim-less-physical-formula-1-over-formula-e FIA Women’s Commission representative Carmen Jorda believes female racers should pursue Formula E instead of Formula 1 because it is "less physical."
Uh oh....... say it’s not true, a women, telling us she feels women aren’t the same physically as men and so should specialise in a less physical sport? How dare she, what does she know, the feminazi will be upset.... Oh, but she’s a lady herself, so she knows first hand, how does that fit the narrative? Why are the feminists so upset that they have different physical makeup compared to men, aren’t they happy with gods work? Aren’t they the same ones that say god is a woman?
Carmen Jordá should stay away from any kind of racing car. Maybe Danica Patrick, Sussie Wolff or Tatiana Calderón are just "average", but Jordá is plain bad and is not qualified to make these kind of judgements.
For what it's worth I don't rate Susie either. At all. Tatiana did ok, but not great either, certainly not to get a TD job on merit.
Maybe, but at least she has been there and experienced driving, unlike the feminists that scream blue murder about lack of opportunity, she is at least placed to make a comment, whether it’s valuable or not is up for discussion. On the basis of physicality of the cars, it is probably much harder for a female frame and muscular stature to take on the forces at work on an F1car, it’s jus physics. Mind you, elton does okay, so maybe I’m totally wrong hehehehehe
While G forces have increased due to aero, most people who have drive modern cars as wel as 70's and 80's wild beasts say the old cars were far more physically demanding to drive, especially as they had no power steering. In the early 80's before skirts (for the cars, not the drivers) were banned there was essentially no suspension whatsoever and those cars were a physical hell to drive. Despite that you had Divina Galica, Desire Wilson and Giovanna Amati on the grid for short stints. In Indy car you had Janet Guthri, Desire Wilson (again) and possibly most impressive Lyn St. James. Let's not even try to list group C drivers and those cars were effectively F1 cars with less drag by the early 90's. I really wish Simona de Silvestro had got a shot to race F1, but let's face it, when she teamed up with Sauber the team's main aim was to drain the bank accounts of as many drivers as possible with false promises of a seat or test. I feel really sorry for Carmen Jorda. She was a really poor choice to be involved as a driver in any form in F1. She had crap results in all the feeder series and did nothing except bring a large check and a (very) pretty face. In 2014 she was in GP3 with Koiranen GP. She sucked. Best finish was a couple of 17th's and was normally in 21-22nd place. For the last four races she was replaced by Dean Stoneman who got two wins, a second and one retirement IN THE SAME CHASSIS with the same team, engineers etc. BTW 2014 was Carmen's third year in GP3 so no excuss for learning the cars. IT's not like the world is talking about Stoneman as the next LCH or Senna either.
I just looked at Jorda's Wikipedia records page. In 12 years over 8 categories and 183 races she recorded zero wins, zero poles and zero fastest laps. Not exactly the person I would turn too for advice on driving or driver requirements.
There are women fighter pilots pulling 7+ g's. Carmen needs to stfu and worry about her modelling career, she is a horrible ambassador for women in motorsport. Hot though.
Yah I would have to say this goes down as one of the dumbest statements of the year. But it may have a positive effect on F1 in the long run. I don't have a problem with a women driver as long as they drive well. But it is a grueling sport. All I can say it thank god no male driver in F1 said it. It would have been the end of their career.
Nice try. She said what she said. She said women were too weak to do the demands of the G forces. I think she was 100% wrong and it was dumb to say so. But, she said it. In a round about way it might actually help women in the sport. If a woman can do this job, let her.
Its not the first time she's expressed that sentiment. Nice damage control but everyone who pays attention knows she has some sort of disdain for women in racing for some reason.
And she’s different to any f1 driver ever how? We all have the opinion that the physicality of the cars is too much, and every lady tester that has tried so far has been unable to drag those final tenths out of an f1 car - there must be a reason that happens - really, this world needs to stop trying to make every single one of us the exact same, because we are not. There will be things that ladies are better at than us chaps, and vice versa. What’s wrong with acknowledging that? I love the ladies, more power to them, but I don’t want to see one killing her self trying to prove she can manhandle a car around for a couple hours just to keep coming last because it’s too intensely physical. That would just destroy her confidence and ruin her career, which in a suitable formula may be amazingly good
Oh please. It's not about whether women in general are physically capable, there are plenty of men that aren't either. Like I said, there are women fighter pilots pulling more g's than any race car can even fathom. It's not about whether a woman can handle the car, it's a numbers game. There just aren't enough women drivers at that level yet to compete. There are literally 1000s of male drivers that aren't in F1 right now, and there are dozens, maybe 100s over the years, that have tried and failed. Its hard. It takes a certain person to be able to handle it. It has nothing to do with equalizing genders. No one is saying they're the same, nor do they have to be. In the end as more and more women make it to that level we'll see one get a drive and win championships eventually. Just like in every other profession, just have to find one that wants it bad enough and has the skills.
I agree, but women aren’t encouraged into motorsport in numbers, and those that manage to make it through the ranks so far haven’t been physically able to cope for race distances. Now though, f1 cars are getting easier to drive, evidenced by 11 stone weaklings like Elton and stroll, so maybe they will get there. However, there aren’t many lady fighter pilots per head of women in the forces, just as there aren’t many racing drivers per head of racing drivers Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
