    i'm trying to find the origin of a word... AskJeeves.com is worthless and so are a bunch of other sites... Anyone have any suggestions on where i can do...? Google wasn't much help, either...

    The Oxford English Dictionary is well-known for its etymological analyses. It is available on-line or in print. The most recent printed copy is, I believe, the Second Edition, which spans 20 volumes.

    I do not believe the etymologies are available on the free version of the on-line edition. However, you can probably find a copy at a good library.

    If I'm not mistaken, a farrier is somebody who shoes horses...what I didn't know if the other meaning of "Farrier" - see below

    "Farrier" (fay-reei-uhr): The desire of wanting to own a black Italian supercar named 134282.
