True, but stock or just slightly higher wattage on a proper beam pattern is fine. No need for 100W or crazy HID bulbs or anything silly like that.

    Agreed.

Probably one of the best things you can do is to make sure you're getting enough voltage to the bulbs (and rectify, if not). These are Italian cars after all with "aged" Italian wiring.

Would love to see an LED version of the lamp assembly - I mean a version the same size and shape and mounting points but with the reflectors and glass designed/engineered for LEDs. I would buy those!

Finally back home to continue this. Went around the world last week, literally. Seattle to Hong Kong, stayed 1 day. Hong Kong to Taiwan, 3 days. Taiwan to Mumbai, two days. Mumbai to London, one day. London to Seattle. :)

Anyway, the loosening of the two bolts/nuts on the left headlight was very helpful. Gave just enough room to get the headlight out. The right side is much easier due to the mounting tab positions and I didn't need to loosen anything.

Actual headlight configuration adjustment was just like what was posted elsewhere.
I'll post comparison pics when it gets dark.

Ok, here are comparison pics. The top pic (LHT setup) you can see the slightly dimmer light from the right headlight. The bulb wasn't all the way in its socket and was sort of sticking out a little bit--like one notch wasn't set and the bulb wasn't flush. You can see how that affected the light output.

Bottom pic, lights set up for RHT (LHD) and this bulb corrected.
The car may have been a different distance slightly from the door. I didn't measure--but you get the idea.

Thanks for the photos - clearly shows the difference. Now don't forget to change the part numbers on your headlamps! :)

Can the screws be loosened and the assembly rotated from below the car (can the assembly be rotated without removing the headlamps)?

In my opinion, no it can not. Then again, I didn't have it up on a lift looking at it from below.
