What ferrari do you have and where RPM-wise do you feel the most pull? I know with American V-8s it seems shifting works best with lower revs as compared to Japanese engines. Do you really feel the peak of the curve in your Ferrari?

    I Have a F355:
The engine comes alive at 4200
The engine has the most pull between 5500 and 6200
The engine makes the loudest wail at 8000-8500

308 here and I think it comes alive above 4k. I havent really accurately measured it, but I would estimate that 4-7k range is ideal for really moving out acceration wise. Its definitely the most fun!!

I have to say, shifting my F1 360 in sport mode above 7K is incredible. Doesn't seem to build much torque below 4K.
