I am sure its nothing new, however they are cracking down hard on all sports ever since Lance Armstrong. World Anti-Doping Agency tests several Formula One drivers - Autoweek

The "attraction" is no different than for athletes of any sport. F1 is one of the most demanding sports on the planet, physically and mentally.
He only needs his extra 12 hours of sleep to fully recover. Too bad He had to test the following day after a long night at the Hotel Bar in Barcelona.
Paraphrasing Jay Leno; "In what way is pot performance enhancing?"....... "Unless there's a big ol' Hershey bar in the pits." Cheers, Ian

some form of speed? Nazis supposedly gave out speed to the army. I've also heard even in America something along those lines for pilots. I doubt you will find anyone that was actually there and did it, admit it.
Long haul truckies used to live on the stuff until 'the clocks' became ubiquitous. However, given the heart rates Prof Sid discovered in his research, I'd have to say it'd be about the *last* thing an F1 jockey needed!..... There was a story where pornoMaXXX was traveling with James Hunt to the Brazilian GP. Arriving in Brazil, Hunt said he wanted to make a stop at his friends house. Max agreed and once arrived they had a drink and Hunt and his friend where doing lines of ''a white substance''. They offered Max but he claims he didn't have any of the stuff he didn't know what it was (yeah right). The reporter then asked if Hunt was ever drug tested. His answer: ''No, but I'm fairly certain he would have tested positive on occasions'', or among those lines. It'll be a bit strong to say that ''everyone'' was on coke in the 80s, but I'm sure a good many where.
There's been a few in Nascar but they have strict testing policies. The higher profile cases are Jeremy Mayfield and AJ Allmendinger. There were rumors that Al Unser Jr might have had depression and substance abuse issues in his last few years with team Penske. I don't know what the CART drug testing policy was back then if there even was one.
