Seems there's a new sportscar green series afoot. They've got a TV package and track record of the folks behind it is successful. Don't know if this is good news or bad for the sportscar fan at a time when ALMS and LMS are struggling for teams and budgets. Permitted cars * All sport prototype cars to the FIA group CN regulations which comply to the WSCO series regulations . Also group C1/C2 cars to the WSCO rules. Divisions * C1 Division 1: up to 2.0 Liter single turbo charged to WSCO specifications of at least 2.500 produced cars, appr. 420 BHP; in 2009 also 3.0 liter engines (4-/6- cylinders) * C2 Division 2: up to 2.0 Liter engines to FIA CN and WSCO C2 (S2000) spec; appr. 260/285BHP Technics * Micro-Hybrid System MVST Race E-traction has to be used. The systems reduces fuel consumption by appr. 9% and gives some extra power of 30kw/75 NM direct on to the crankshaft (Div.2: 25kw/50 NM).The noise level is limited to 105 decibel http://www.worldsportscar.org/
I feel time has come for that kind of motorsport. By the way: hybrids can be used as electric charger and that means extra power!
