Jon the cables are all gone, a complete new assembly from gear nob to clutch,its a 6 speed box mostly 355 componants with some custom made bits where it needed re-enginnerring,the shift bar is a single steel bar, much more precise when you change gear, The extra buttons are for a Start button, Noz Primed button,Noz bottle warmer button, and pressure gauge.

That is amazing!! I still think the best part of your 348 is the 355 grill and lights on the back. If you ever want to sell that mod let me know.

 

Andy, I love your car. More than anything you are not afraid to customize your car any way that you like. That shows me two things, 1 you have the money to afford your car by all means and do what ever you like to it, so important. 2nd you are not afraid to cut into a car that other people treat like a museum show piece. Remember you can’t take it with you so, do what ever you want to it. My HERO!

I have been curious as to how you set that up from when you first posted it.

Do you have any issues of it rubbing on the side of the gear box? I'm wondering if the same can be done with the regular 5 speed?

ernie no problems with it rubbing,no probs at all touch wood. I do not think it would work with the 5 speed as there no way to get 2 stright connections.

Goodness! first, you drop in a 355 gearbox than you have it NOS. Does it scare off 360s? Your Stradale stripe is an interesting treatment. BTW, you still have that spare 348gearbox to sell or know of any good piece in UK available for a reasonable price? Jon

Steve,English but living in Italy, 1993 Met black on red , ts , hill shift gate, chrome shift knob, Ansa pipe and chip upgrade 300bhp. N.B. never posting another pic of my car until i see a Pic of Dale's car dirty! Andy, your car is the bo*****s, when i ever get the cash i'm up for NOS too. (in the mean time i'll just be getting some of your spacers!!).

Yeah, I have to chime in here. Do you intend to drive the car, or just keep it in a time capsule? No judgment either way... just trying to figure out the goal.

 

The goal is thats its his car. Dale is a ferrari tec for an large official ferrari dealership, so either way the car is going to be well taken care of by the experts. Just somthing i thought you ought to know, but there again as you said there was not going to be judgement

 

and yet he chooses to the own the 348....hint hint...that should make all of us feel good. How unreliable can a car be if a tec chooses to own it?

Not true chaa, Dale is a very intelligent individual with a lot of taste,haveing spoken to him he agrees that the 348 was the last proper Ferrari made, before all the girly electrical **** got put in them.
