Welcome to Ferrari chat Tom and welcome to the Brotherhood! Your 348 looks gorgeous man, congrats and enjoy in good health.
Congrats, Tom. Enjoy in good health. If you like a pure, unadulterated driving experience it doesn't get much better than the 348.
It's a Vitus. I have a collection of Vituses, even their mountain bike. How's this ultra-rare one? First monocoque carbon frame. Oh, I used to custom build steel frames and dabbled in Titanium once. Steel was easiest - this was back in the late 1980's early 1990's. Columbus Nivachrome was great stuff to build with. Serial #? Different from VIN? or same. Will have to go look. I did some research on which model to get (and my aesthetics) - and decided the jump from the 348 to the 355 was way too much and some of the older cars like the 328 and such were harder to find in either good shape or unmolested (tons of add-ons and aftermarket "improvements" people would do) Only things I need to fix on this one are the right hand mirror is inoperative and on my second drive the 1-4 check engine light came on but no noticeable difference in the engine performance/sound. Glad you love yours!
As for your right hand mirror problem. 348's are known to have either corrosion or broken wires in the drivers door to body wiring loom/harness. Pull back the rubber boot in the door jam to inspect. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
I'm in "dry" New Mexico and it has been raining on and off for two weeks. Haven't had the car leave the garage - water isn't the problem - it's all the sand and rocks that wash in to the road and other cars fling up in the air . . . . Will check out the door wiring harness tomorrow, hopefully (got Turkey day coming up to get ready for)
Good Luck! Oh by the way if the wire is broken, for a quick fix to check it out , I cut a piece of paper clip and pushed it into the wire end and the connector. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
It's really easy to check, Tom. All you have to do is pull the rubber boot on the connector back a bit. Pretty easy to repair as well, at least if you just do the broken ones. Some great info in the archives here but I do need to post the pin-out from my '91 TS, which differs significantly from the wiring diagrams. Who woulda thunk that Ferrari would stray from its documentation?
Great car, getting better with age, and way overlooked by collectors. Best handling and feeling Ferrari of it's era. Most don't know this.

After exactly 10 years I have traded my F348 and bought a much younger Ferrari California.. if they wait 9 days with delivery ... then it will be exact! 10 years later , after I bought my first Ferrari. I feel very happy about it
