Eye of the Beholder.. I even watched the ending a few times to see if i missed anything, nope, nothing. putting a handycam in my office for two hours would be more exciting and lead somewhere more than this movie did
Recently I would add Mama Mia (and I love ABBA) Zombie Strippers (I like bad horror movies but this one wasnt even entertainingly bad...just plain bad) Wanted (even a naked Angelina Jolie couldnt save this turd)
Covenant Date movie Epic movie American poop movie (yes, it has poop in its title) American Pie series All crap movies based on teens and tits with no plot or acting skills Crappy stuff, bigtime. Any title with "movie" in it: I'm not watching, to many hours wasted. Edit: Redline!! Fast & Furious 1, 2 and of course 3.
Death Proof I made the mistake of purchasing this turd Tarentino needs serious mental help - not only is the story disgusting, but he tries too hard to make it campy. F- Your enjoyment may vary from mine, depending on your political views. IMHO they need to disclose the politics before paying to watch the movie. I know to avoid crap from that wanker Michelle Moore, but a movie like this is grossly mis-titled!!!
My worst: Note these are all movies I walked out of Dude where's my car Redline Driven Solaris Dungeons and Dragons My best friends wedding Zohan Amargeddon Reign of Fire Batman and Robin( This one I was almost in tears as I am such a huge fan, it was really painful to watch)
'Dude' was so rediculous, it was like watching a train wreck- I couldn't look away. 'Reign' is a perfect example of an excellent movie idea with poor execution.
BABYLON AD WAS THE WORST!!!!! I knew it was bad when the movie ticket guys smirked at me and were extra happy to guide me to the movie number.
You dudes have WAY TOO MUCH time & money on your hands. I have never even heard of 75% of these movies. Folks like you are supporting all this ****!!!! Turn off your wallets and turn off Hollywierd. I did years ago. Hint: See the movies "the critics" DON'T like and you'll probably NOT be disappointed. Honestly, I usually watch the movies few "in-the-know" folks like. They are often right-- they are WRONG!
Boy, I sure agree, critics usually rate a movie for its "artistic qualities" all of which are virtually unseen and unnoticed by the general public.
+1 .. it was a cool idea with not bad effects, but just seemed to fall apart. While not "worst" movie status, I thought Hancock was pretty stupid. Again, neat idea but the plot got so convoluted and the bad guy so ridiculous (how would they know he was at that hospital???) that it fizzled. Kind of like I AM LEGEND, which had 45mins of super scenes, but then the last scenes were complete CGI-let down.
If a movie is unspeakably bad, it often gains a cult following. (Plan 9 and a ton of other 50's sci-fi and horror dreck). Some are just mediocrities, though, either because your expectations were higher (Dark Knight- the late lamented Heath L. was inspired, if not brilliant; the rest of the movie was a disaster, even though I liked Batman Begins and the rest of the cast very much) or because, in spite of a star-studded cast, there is no magic generated on screen.* (Ishtar is always held up as an example, but having stayed away from it, I can't tell you about that one based on personal experience; however, the Godfather III is certainly a qualifier here). There is one movie that, to this day, haunts me though as the most boring movie I have ever sat through: Cohen and Tate, starring the recently deceased and respected Roy R. Scheider. For those of you who missed it, Roy and Adam Baldwin (the only Baldwin on the planet not related to Alec) kidnap a kid-- that's basically the most action you'll see in the entire movie; they then drive around with the kid in the car for an hour or more, *****ing at each other and finally, Roy gets so depressed, he blows his brains out at the end. In between the kidnapping and the ending, nothing happens. Even cold fast food is more interesting. * I guess I'd add a third category of mediocrity: the movie that is deliberately made to be bad. Some of the comedies mentioned in this thread don't really deserve to be considered 'bad' as in 'worst' because that would compliment something that doesn't even deserve the questionable recognition of 'worst.' Ditto, on the Shlock send-ups Tarentino did in GrindHOuse, although the trailer for "Machete" (Rodriguez) was brilliant. Having said all this, I do agree that Battlefield Earth is probably one of the true qualifiers- one review at the time said that it was likely to be the worst movie of the 21st Century, and that was when the century still had approximately 99 years to go! (I won't diss Travolta here, given his recent tragedy, and generally like him- Pulp Fiction was and remains a favorite, so Tarentino can get it right as well).
