"Developed by director/star Kevin Costner over five years, the film won 7 Academy Awards (1990) and the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture. Much of the dialogue is in the Lakota language with English subtitles, unusual for a film at the time of its release.

In 2007, Dances with Wolves was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant"

It's interesting to read the opposing opinions about some of these films. A lot of crap out there like "Day After Tomorrow", "Battlefield Earth" and anything with Tom Green. "Armageddon" was cheesy but Steve Buscemi's one-liners made it memorable.

For me, "Children of a Lesser God" was the big stinker. The plot was completely predictable and I nearly anticipated the dialogue.

I couldn't believe that Marlee Matlin won "Best Actress" for playing a biatchy deaf girl.

No way! That had some great scenes (which, for an improv movie is what it's about).

"The Crying Game". (how 'bout getting hoodwinked into having to see Forrest Whittaker's pee-pee?).

Anything Andrew Dice Clay has anything to do with could be worth a look-see. I thought his stand-up stuff was great.
