Superb. I'd love to have seen an speedo during that lap. What suprises me is that there are sections where he seems to blat through quite a few corners with no need for changing gear....
I think its safe to say that he's intimate with the course. Quite scary though. To put things in perspective - what time did Clarkson do in his Jag diesel?
Clarkson did it in 9:59 wasn't it?----Beat me to it Graham Its Hans Joachim Stuck, I think he's familiar with every circuit on the planet The way he reels in some of them Porkers is amazing. The M3 GTR was eventually banned from edurance races wasn't it?
I think it pushed the boundary of a "race car based on a road car" rule. More of an out and out race car that looked a bit like an M3. But cynics will tell you cos it won everything and the other teams got pissed off and complained
Having been round the 'ring a few times, I *ahem* allegedly have footage from a passenger lap with an FIA GT driver at the wheel of an (admittedly) road-legal Porsche 996 GT3RS. Watching my video brings back memories of how fast it felt at the time, not to mention the 16 cars and 2 bikes that we overtook. However, watching this footage of Stuck is stunning - by comparison, our lap appears to be conducted in slow motion. I can't believe how he keeps his foot in at some points. Seriously impressive stuff, and I think he was pleased with his lap too! Ben.
You mean someones actually done it over a minute quicker! Well he obviously wasn't trying hard enough - 6/10 must do better through the corners
He's about as pro as they come. Don't know his full history but I'm fairly sure he's won Le Mans on multiple occassions
Bloody hell he's quick around that is'nt he, i'm meant to be going to "the ring" later this year around September time, i'd love to go round it that quick
