    There is something seriously wrong with that serial number... The VIN is correct for a European model 355 - but the serial number, 82328, falls right around mid to late 1989.

    I know Ferrari has done weird things like this in the past - there was a thread about an Enzo recently with a seriously low serial number - and the picture of the stamping is right there in the auction - it just looks weird...

    Thats because its a mix and match between an 89 348 and later 355.

    the car used in the film was a 348 converted into a 355 by a firm called QV in london, which would explain the 348 timescale vin number

    The EBAY photo links are dead at this time, but if this is the same car I think it is, the yellow 355b was owned by someone in Louisiana that purchased the car originally from EBAY. From what was claimed, it’s a former challenge car / test shell so that might explain this issue with the VIN but who knows? The owner also had the red Diablo from the same film if I remember correctly. Both cars were shipped to Houston to a "certain shop I know of" to undergo a restoration of some sort, but as I expected it never happened. Here are some photos I found from another site with the cars at the Classy Chassis auto show in the Houston Astrodome back in 2004.
