be a deterent? I figure if a thief sees the sticker he might think otherwise. Does anyone know where I could pick up some stickers that read 'protected by Silent Alarm'. Just a thought.

Frankly, some thieves don't care. It can't hurt, just as a blinking LED can't hurt, but I don't know how many thieves would care if they're determined enough. Maybe a LoJack sticker would do well, unless they want a stereo or some other component. On Audis like mine, thieves care more about stuff like stereo, nav, xenons, etc., than the car, because they can't steal the car.

Either a flashing LED or stickers advises a would-be intruder to choose another car. An LED (more so if it is connected to a good alarm system) is probably more convincing.

I agree that the majority of today's thieves are more interested in what's inside the car than in the car itself - particularly in the case of a Ferrari, which doesn't make sense to disassemble for parts, and is too rare & conspicuous to sell.

Many F-owners put expensive, generic-fit stereos in their cars. Break-in magnet. At least get something with a removable faceplate, and pop it off/hide it out of sight when the car is not securely parked. A thief will be inclined to look for another car accordingly.

Obviously don't leave anything visible in a parked car. You might not think a jacket is a temptation, but a thief might wonder if there's a wallet in it.

I've had my pickup broken into and stuff stolen when there was stuff in the bed that was more valuable and left alone. Go figure.

When was the last time that anyone paid any attention to a car alarm sounding off? Now if car alarms sounded like gun shots, or maybe a machine gun, maybe breaking glass, then people would pay attention for the first two or three times they heard it, and then would start tunning them out again.

Maybe having stickers and blinking lights will help someone make the decision to go to the next car that's easier pickings.
