....taking a Nice,Weekend Drive to Frankenmuth,Michigan, for thier Oktoberfest in a few weekends? I have seen a couple of News Stories through the Years, telling about how this is one of THE BEST Oktoberfests outside of Munich,Germany. I was talking with Jerry and Mike, our Michigan Connections. It is approx. a 3-4 Hour Drive from Chicago. We would have to leave either on Friday night by 7:00PM-ish,or Saturday Morning,07:00AM-ish. Stay until 2-3PM on Sunday, with a drive home that would get us back here by 6-7PM. And,if anyone wants to join in along the Route through Indiana and Michigan, that would be great! I am just putting out some feelers on this one...But,if there is enough interest,we could do it. If not, thats O.K.,too. I was just wondering...........
BTW....Frankenmuth is about 15-20 Miles North of Flint,MI. Not really all that long of a Drive. I was just guesstimating the Time.
Or,would anyone be interested in being in the Columbus Day Parade? The Criteria only being that you KNOW that you Can have the Day off of Work. (It's always a Monday) And,that you have an ITALIAN Car or Motorcycle. ANY Italian Car or Motorcycle. If you are interested, and KNOW that you CAN Make it, please post here ASAP and I will see if we can still sign up.
What? Nobody? The Parade is Televised and Replayed so that you can Record that Part and save it as a Keepsake. It has been really pathetic,as far as the Italian Cars go on the Columbus Day Parade. The last few years, there has only been ONE,a 355 Spider,in the whole Parade!!! This being an Italian American themed Parde, thought that a Bunch of Italian cars and Motorcycles would liven it up alittle.... Well, maybe next Year for either/both if there is anymore interest.
Keepsakes; how many keepsakes does one need? And photo ops sheesh, how many pictures does one need of their car(s)?? I've never taken pics of any of my cars!! Can't we just do a drive, and drive???? To hell with the rest of the drivel!!@
How about we go to Madison and drive some of those cars that ain't been driven in awhile!?!?!?!? I'd volunteer my services.
Hey now I was the one who first volunterred my services to Skip to take care of his toys. So how about it Skip? I can't remember the name of the guy up there who is a major tuner for Panteras. I've been to his place twice and he always has a nice collection of toys. He also stores a number of customer units. Maybe we can make a short trip to see him? His shop is on his home property so wouldn't want to bother him to long. If interested I'll find his name and number and see about setting something up.
He is my mechanic and is a fantastic one at that. Name is Cory. Anyway, I have talked to Paul Swartzel (the regional FCA president out of Dubuque) about setting up a drive in the spring where we tour Cory's place. I was talking to Cory about it last week. He is a pretty humble guy regarding those things and said he doesn't want a big self-promotional "Hey come look at my shop and how great it is" thing but would do some sort of get-together/party if people wanted to. He'll be racing with his Viper team up at Road America next week for those who might be going. Look for the SnakeOyl car. By the way, which cars are Skip's?? Can I make a guess that the black Countach is one of them??
Well,Skip, this is NOT a "Drive" Its a Parade. With an Italian Theme. Having some Italian Cars in it would be nice now, wouldn't it? So,yes, taping it WOULD be cool to have and pass along down to me Kids and Grandkids. (BTW....do you have any Kids or Grandkids???) Nobody said that You Have to do it if you dont want to....
Anyone still interested in doing the Columbus Day Parade with our Ferrari's.???? Oooops! Too Late!!!!.....
