I'm 6'5" and 300 lbs (54XT jacket). Just curious if there are any big F40 owners out there or people who've had a chance to at least test fit the car?

I'm not in the market...just curious. I was a road tester for various car mags for years and I've driven a lot of cars but I was 13 when the F40 came out and I've never had the opportunity to drive one since.

    Thanks.

I think the Euro seats are bigger then the USA seats, but not sure. You might have to do a seat swap. But maybe not, I mean I am 6-1 240 and I fit fine in a USA car.

    Welcome to FChat

Sorry but I dont think you'll fit in an F40

Maybe if you remove the seat and sit on cushions on floor

Its pretty much the same cockpit size as a 308, narrow & low

Agree that it would be very difficult.

You sure the USA seats aren't bigger ;)...

Last time I sat in an F40 I was 6'6'' and about 230lbs. I fitted ok, standard euro seats.

I'm 6'9'' now and 250 lbs, if i where in the market i'd need a smaller steering wheel and a 70mm hub, remove the seats and put them on the floor...It wouldn't be comfortable at all but it's not a Rolls Royce ;).

Bas: At 6' 9" you would not fit safely in any F40 and be able to operate the vehicle competently, without extensive modifications to the cockpit on the driver's side.

The USA seats are much 'slimmer' at the hips than the Eu seats. The Eu seats are splayed and allow a driver with a wider rear end to sit in them without damaging or breaking the seats bolsters. Simply by careful inspection of a USA car's driver seat frame & bolsters, you can tell if the car has been used regularly by a heavy person as you will see cracking in the composite backing caused by extreme pressure upon entry.

Let's put it this way a friend of mine who is 6'0 and weighs 290lbs sat in the drivers seat and was wedged in afterwards and could not get out! We had to yank him out, after which he had terrible side pain for a week. So not advised!

    That's a downer...

But when I'm in the market for one I'll have to do the modifications anyways. My legs are much longer than average so I assume if I can get a race pedal box and moved forward it'll help.

It's a car after all that needs to be driven instead of trailered to a concourse show...

I'm 6'3" and was about 185 when I sat in one, and I found the seat to be verry tight. I remember having plenty of headroom, but my hips were squashed in.

Thank you everyone for your helpful replies. I figured I might not fit in the standard seats. sounds like I might not have enough leg and headroom either...story of my life;-)

I am 6'0" 215 and I barely fit in my european seat USA model. My good friend is 6'2" 260 and he was miserable in the car.

I am 6'5.5" and 240-250 lean. I tried to shoehorn into a USA F40 at a local cars and coffee and there is no way in hell I could operate that safely without modifications...

On another note, I really want to see a thread on super car interior room, and what are the biggest drivers they can accommodate. It will give me something to look forward to.

One advantage to an F40 and other cars like it is that the seats can be easily swapped out and the tracks can be re-done to move the seats forward or back more. Takes time and money, but is doable.

When I bought a Euro version there were 2 seat options I knew about - standard & large. Possibly by logic there may have been a small size also.
However at 5' 10" it is comfortable. With a helmet its a squeeze.
For your height weight there are 2 choices, and both of them are not positive. I can not see how the guy 6' 9" even managed to get in the car let alone drive it.

Max is 6' 3" in a USA car (ask me how I know) with USA-spec seats which interestingly place the driver lower in the car than Eu seats, although the latter are easier for entry and exit.

Joe, people's bodies are shaped differently... some like me have tall torso's, and shorter legs, while others have long legs, and short torsos, and everything in between.

@6'2" with a tall torso, I fit comfortably... when I was 285 lbs, the seats were tight, but still tolerable given the 'joy' factor :)

Since I dropped 75 lbs, I haven't tried F40 seats again to compare. However, CGT/ Enzo buckets fit much more comfortably now.

You are right, your overall size makes a difference. I have the same tall torso thing going on, and at 195 to 200 lbs the seat feels like it was made for me, undoubtedly one of the reasons I like the model as much. But the seat bolsters have some flex, so a bigger guy can easily get in without damaging them if entry & exit is carefully done. If you need more foot room you can space the pedals a bit differently by moving the attachment bolts one slot over either way.
