I have an item that I’m looking to get an idea if folks around here feel this is an item of interest, potentially worth selling. Back in 1994, Ferrari returned to sports prototype racing with the F333 SP. The car made its debut at Road Atlanta and won the first time out. I was heavily involved with the SCCA at the time and was pleased to be working that event. I was even more pleased when I learned that part of my responsibilities involved monitoring the pit stops of the Euromotorsport team. I spent a good deal of the weekend near and around the team and had a chance to get to know some of the team members.
To make a long story short, at the very end of the day, as they were preparing to load the cars on to the transporters I asked one of the crew for a specific souvenir. A bit to my surprise, my request was granted. What I have is the F333 SP logo that came off of Jay Cochran’s car/the race winning car that day.
I have plenty of evidence to substantiate my story as to the authenticity of this piece.
So – my question is – do you folks feel that there would be interest in such an item if I were to put it up for sale?
    Thanks & best wishes…

    Ha...that's a pretty rare item.

Where was it mounted on the car???

I watched many of the 333SP teams, did not notice they had a nameplate.
    Great races....

Each car had two of them, mounted on the air box, one on each side.
    They were glued on.
    Yes - definitely a one-of-a kind item.
I do have a photo of me with one of the sister cars, but I don't believe it is from an angle that would show the badge.

This has been incredibly frustrating, but I have finally found a photo. I wonder if these were only present on the very early cars and were quickly removed.

Master Patrick - I am clueless as to what such an item may be worth. I'm glad to find there is another. Mine is a tad special having come from Jay's car. I so dearly wish I could find the wonderful picture I got that day of the trophy, the champagne bottle, and Jay's helmet. That made for a great shot.

I think there would be interest. The question is, what is the right value?

What do rare badges go for these days? I would start with that. What does a Challenge Stradale or a 355 Challenge or an F50 badge go for? That would give you an idea of where to start. I get the 333 SP is rarer than those other cars but at least that would give you a ballpark value.

Poke around the parts dealers and see what they are asking for badges. Like Ricambi, All Ferrari Parts, T. Rutlands.

Excellent advice - thank you very much. These must not have been on the cars for very long, as like anything else on a race car - if it's purpose is not somehow related to making it go faster... it goes bye bye.

I've been looking for this a LONG time. Jay's helmet, the trophy, and the champagne bottle. One of the best pictures I've ever taken.
Along with a good one of the car.

Now we know these emblems were on the cars at Road Atlanta. However, 99% of the photographs one finds of the 333 SP shows the car without the emblem. So, at some point, they were removed. I imagine it will be quite the challenge to figure out when and why they were removed. I suspect it's that old rule that if it's purpose for being there isn't to make the car faster or more reliable, then it doesn't belong! Anyone who can add anything to this, please do so.
    Thanks...
