Yes, I see a difference and it would bother me.
Either a repaint or bra to fix.
    Best of luck to you.

I believe it has to do with the surface that is painted. The bumpers having to be flexible to meet crash requirements are usually a plastic substance and painted with a flexi paint. So when you tap a car it doesnt chip. The hood being of a metal substance (aluminum) is sprayed with a non flex paint. I see this alot on cars.

    Me too. Looks terrible. Sorry...

That would be exclusionary for me. I'd choose a different color where it isn't noticible, or not buy the car at all...

My QP in Blue netuno has the same problem, but a lot less noticable. It seems to be a live with it thing

    Sorry guyzzz,
I know of someone who has his 4200 GT more than one year now. Also in silver - but he did not have this problem with his car! Also I never saw this with any other Coupe or Spyder here in EU!

    Ciao!
    Walter

My 02 Spyder did NOT have that problem. Personally it doesn't bother me but obviously it's bothering you to some degree, might want to see how you could fix it. Whether a repaint or bra.

    lotusboy,

very hard to tell ... the dealer is obvioiusly denying anything and has told me he has other cars with the same 'blemish' ... if they did spray it, they took the bumper off to make it happen ... and with the washer cover popping off ... makes me very suspicious ... I'm not mentioning the dealers name as yet ... hoping they will make this right ... oh yeah ... no dealer survey from Maser yet ... so i think i have a card or two to play

Find another car in your color, likely needs to also be same year unless you can be sure material / paint didn't change at all.... see if it has the same "issue".

Great Idea ... not that many GS around though ... same PPG code as a coupe ... right?

I've got an Acura TL, it has the same issue with the rear bumper. It drove me nuts when I went to buy the car. Checked out the entire lot at Rick Case--all of them were like that, no matter what the color. I think the previous poster speaking about the flex-additives is on to something.

That would bother me. Did you do a carfax?
Also look inside the wheel wells at the screws, has the paint been worn off the screw heads? I would wonder if that nose has been changed.
Those little headlight washer covers pop off easily (happened to me twice), so I don't think that in of itself is indicative of a problem.
Having said that though....both Ferrari and Maserati are not known for quality paint work...I've seen absolutely new Ferraris with paint drips down the wing.......
    Ciao!

That was certainly true years ago but lately F has improved dramatically. I assume it's the same with M these days.

My new 360 was flawless. It was actually better than new 911s I've owned and Porsche is known for their exceptional paintwork.

my wife's 90th anniv spider is the same way not much you can do. I think it has to do with the texture of the front bumper

My 11 year old Trans Am has plastic and metal panels that all match, both when I bought the car new and today 11 years later. If GM of all people could manage to match flex paint to the rest of the body 11 years ago, I would certainly hope Maserati could manage to do so in 2006. I would be after the dealer to rectify the situation, and would also be suspicious of a repaint on the bumper.

Personally, it would bother me, as its such a lovely car. I reckon that if they know that the paint shows up a slightly darker colour on plastic parts, the least they could do is lighten up the paint to match in better, however , i think as already said above, they should happily be able to match these days

    very nice Maser though
