We could've all pitched in $200 and bought this to haul our cars around and stored it at Robs house, but he moved. Too bad. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6173&item=2487831765&rd=1
Hmm, I like it. Not only a car hauler, but somewhat a classic too. Our last neighbors on White Chapel had a NEW car hauler, but it was only working about 2 weeks out of the 9 months they lived next to us. Jennie's truck pulled it down White Chapel a few times to start it. Anyone can use my 24 ft. enclosed if I'm not using it. Good for cars and we used it to move too, bigger than most U-hauls. Sucks Ferrari is plastered all over it and the new big crime is stealing trailers.
Rob, do you still store the 355C in the trailer or do you keep it in the garage now? I'd hate to see a stolen trailer with a Ferrari in it.
It's in the garage now. It won't have to go into the trailer until there's a 4th Ferrari, but that may never happen or not anytime in next few decades.
jim there is no connection between this and your earlier rant regarding having your ferrari towed to norwoods? Are you looking at vertical integration so you can eliminate the middle man and maximize your frustration by towing the car to the shop without having to pay a tow truck driver?
Jennie would actually go for this in a second. Everytime we pass one of these trucks I hear the entire story... "back in '89 when I was twelve I hauled grain to the elevator for two weeks in a truck just like that. It had no clutch and brakes, but engine braking and matching the revs weren't hard after you got use to it." A twelve year old! I was too busy seeing how big of splash I could make at the pool.
Well, if Jennie would go for it, maybe we should start a 'Send A Truck to Rob' thread. We'll post it under 'Send Zupra to New Orleans'. If I had a place to park it, I'd buy it just for fun.
Well, we have more land than the other place, but less parking space. Our back half isn't cleared at all. Rob and Jennie's have no vacancies right now.
an idea, but wouldn't be confident driving that "classic" truck to places like TWS, OK, and KS. Greg might, he has hauled his car to TWS behind his 442.
Nice truck but I see one problem. The rear ramp has such lower rear angle than the newer models, it maybe difficult to get lowered sports cars safely upon it. Just an observation.
Will, what ever happened to that old Chevy truck you were going restore? Is it still around somewhere?
It's in Houston now, I've been trying to sell the damn thing. It's not worth the restoration. Way too much $$$ to get it back in shape.
well...I was a "late bloomer"...I was probably not 12 but 14...but don't forget I drove those 10 speeds w/2 broken arms!
Jim, do you have tow coverage on your Ferrari insurance? If not, you should consider it, it's really cheap. I have it on my Mazda, and it saved me once (water pump seized up, which kept the belt from turning, so no alternator--no go). I admit I've been slacking on not getting it for the Pantera, and I really should, as I had it towed once too (distributor gear sheared, cam gear was sheared--no go). I have my Pantera insurance with Grundy, I know they offer it (I'm sure everyone does).
"Did Halley's comet just go by? A post by Jennie!" Rob's so cheap! You think he would at least buy her a Silver Membership! Instead of buying that truck lets all pitch in and get her a Rosso subscription!
