Corvette sales are going to skyrocket.
Wow, I just received my SF90 last week. That was too close. Hopefully this is a negotiating tactic and goes away quickly. I am not on the list for an F80 but 25% of that car would be astronomical!!!!
Already took delivery of my 296 GTB. Have a 296 GTS on order. will Cancel the GTS and Keep the GTB. Price should go up nicely.
If it hasn’t been released by 2nd April duties will be due. I’d very seriously call your dealer and let them know they need to get that thing cleared pronto.
So let’s say your $500,000 Ferrari is delivered on April 3rd and you find out that with the 25% tariff, it is now $625,000. You don’t like it, but hey, the law is the law and you pay it. A week later, Trump not flip flopping, but being “flexible”, rescinds the tariff. Does Elon cut you a check for the extra $125,000 you paid, or are you just SOL?
Tariffs are paid to the government. That money is gone forever even if they're rescinded down the line. Nobody will get a refund. Until this situation is further clarified by the regulators, it would be difficult to know the exact impact on end user pricing. The safest thing to say is unless you're taking delivery before April 2, nothing is guaranteed.
My P-Bug has a 4/7/2025 build date. It has a 5/15/2025 delivery date. So far there is no word from Porsche.
I recently imported a car from EU and Cargolux told me a few weeks there has been a spike in sales and transportation is backed up now as people rush to fly cars out before impending tariffs kick in. There is also a backlog of applications for customs on both ends as with high value vehicles you need a permit for each individual car to export them in the first place. It’s going to go from total **** show of export/import to nothing overnight.
Three friends have texted me about this since lunch time. Mine isn't even assigned a VIN so who knows, maybe this blows over. But I wrote back exactly what you said too... somewhere between $660k and $690k for a GTS?!
What a mess. Who knew "reciprocal" tariffs actually meant blanket 25% for everyone. I can't see this ending well. Doubtful 25 year old and plus cars get some tariff break, but I can always hope...
how far along is your gts order? i just placed the second deposit. I don't believe i can cancel. How does that work?
Customs broker I used said they’re expecting blanket 25% tariff with no break for used, vintage, etc.
My order will be canceled. I would expect an avalanche of cancellations unless Ferrari chooses to temporarily absorb the tariff. Virtual new Ferrari’s under MSRP is the new sweet spot IMO. I recently purchased two on this possibility.
Me too unfortunately. No need to absorb the 25% tarrif. Especially on the newer models that loose enough as it is
Prediction: Ferrari raises MSRP’s 5- 7.5% and announces they will absorb the rest. What would you do?
Keep in mind with the Tarriff comes additional sales tax. Assume you live in a state that charges a 10% sales tax. That makes the 25% tariff actually 27.5%. Sorry to add fuel to the fire.
Join all other manufacturers, Allocate all USA product to ROW, make new high profile clients. Let frustrated USA buyers carry the water and put pressure on the DB’s to rectify. Send message. And back to reality.
I don’t see the rest of the world buying more cars unless they were discounted- by a lot. Tariffs are a tax. Higher prices reduce demand which also reduces sales and profits. The world economy will suffer. Trump is playing chicken- betting that the USA can better withstand a pissing match because our economy is the strongest and broadest. My apologies.
That's one way to meet your sales quota for March! Especially since they apparently intend to change pricing before the tariffs take effect?
