Examples could be a Ferrari Discussion, Events, Off Topic.

Please suggest other sub-forums or another arrangement if you vote yes.

Could you please explain how this would clean up threads? I may be being thick but it is not clear to me.

A bikini thread style sub-forum would be good for NSW posts and Steve's brekkie photo

I thought things were clear as they were.

    Events being sticky.

Off topic always labelled in the title and other bits and pieces clearly titled.

True, but in general, people have been moaning about too many stickies, and too much OT!

UK section has enough traffic that you could divide the threads up between Ferrari Discussion, Events, and Off Topic for less clutter. The main advantage might be users that don't like the Off Topic stuff don't have to look at it.

I do notice you stick events and label all OT threads, that isn't too bad. I just don't like that many sticky posts and it increases the vertical scroll.

I'm just getting community feedback. I'm not saying we are doing this, just bouncing the idea around. If you want everything in one forum, just vote no.

YES! i may not be british and im not taking sides, but i think the UK section is very cluttered and needs to be organized better, yes the stickies are there, but some are not, and get lost very fast down the forum...

i dont normally visit F-chat for the OT stuff, as im too busy with school and what not, but like to find events and what not nearby, and as of now its just too cluttered...

im not in any way supporting/against rob/steve f i just want a less cluttered UK forum... as quite frankly i dont get half the jokes going on in it! but im learning!

I agree we could do with relevant sub forums. Stuff gets lost very quickly in here...

You won't get a meaningful poll because the regulars ain't posting, so it doesn't count - try in about 2 months

I'll vote yes, shouldnt have to be different from other areas but due to the amount of gumf that gets posted, it has to be a yes. There are so many threads started that only last a handful of posts due to being aimed at a select few so the rest of the world obviously finding these pretty pointless.

Segregating them out I believe will enable the real Ferrari enthusiasts to visit the UK with ease and actually find a topic based on em.......cars.

Yes. I try to be selective now. Separate would make that easier.

I would also suggest a separate board should be put up Internationally for video clip links. Then more of the clips can be viewed by folks & they wouldn't disappear down the forum board so fast when drivel is posted.

I vote yes and feel it would help in "de-cluttering" the UK section, as you are aware it is (was) a very busy site, anyway if it doesn't work surely it can always be reverted back to as it was before.

I vote yes. To be honest this forum is becoming a pain with the number of O/T issues posted by a few individuals. This is supposed to be FerrariChat.com. Lets keep it that way.

Yes. The O/T's have had a tendancy to swamp the car related stuff..

Like Malcolm says, it can't be too hard to change it back if it don't work out.

I agree that sub-forums would be helpful.

It won't change attitudes but it will improve presentation.

YES to sub forums, definately. It would make it much easier to keep track of events we have signed up for and as it has already been pointed out, those who dont like OT wont be exposed to it. Everybody wins.

EVENTS (Events, FOC topics, TV shows to watch)
F DISCUSSION (Buying advice, F1, new cars coming out etc)
F SERVICES (threads about dealers, insurance companies, sourcing parts, Valeting services)
    OFF TOPIC (whatever)

It would be nice to have a separate area of 'ferrari related services' as ive described simply because whenever I look for info on these things (which is often) you have to go through a lot of 'duff' threads before getting to the correct one with the actual phone number or whatever.

Good idea as it would make it much easier to navigate around the UK section! Those who don't care for the OT posts can avoid them more easily and hopefully there will be fewer useful threads which get turned into almost OT by the drivel posted in them.
Can we have a Steve F forum too? ;)
