Would you like to be a bit taller?

Just read that.........I guess all cultures have their plastic surgery wants and needs.........but from the look of what is involved I think I will stay at 6' tall thank you very much or I may just size myself out of more than a few cars with limited headroom.

 

If I was any taller I couldn't be a short order chef, so I guess I won't be going to China to be 'improved'.
There is an error in the article. The Russian technique is not a century old. It was invented by Dr. Ilizarov in the last thirty years and it is a drastic solution to serious ortho problems, not cosmetic surgery. One runs the risks of infection from the pins and loss of mobility from having the limb pinned up for at least six month. (The time is a function of the length of bone that must be grown.) On top of that it hurts like hell - one must walk on the busted leg to encourage the bone to heal.
Still, with over 6 billion people on the planet I'm sure someone is nuts enough to believe having their limbs broken will make them a more desirable person.
