There is a car for every ocasion. 308 for smelly, tasty, real drive. 488 for a track day. Cannot trade, there is no match

I know that this is heresy for some of you here but I would even trade my mint condition 308 for a mint 360 F1 Spyder. I do love my care but after 10 years, something newer, more comfortable, with AC, and more HP would be a welcome change.

I do understand the sentiment but Enzo didn’t work on my engine...he would barely recognize the factory of today. Time waits for no one.

Keep me in mind if you know anyone with a nice 360;)

The 308 is my first love too but I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a long list of cars I'd trade it for. I'd actually prefer the Speciale over the Pista but I'll take either. Money no object how about a trade for an F40? there has to be some car that you'd trade the 308 for.

Not for the Pista, it's a weird looking car from many angles while my 328 looks stunning from every angle.
The ONLY car I would trade my car for would be a 288 GTO. Forget about it being a multi million dollar car, I just love the look of it.

If you change the 4 into 2 and make it a 288 GTO then yes in a heartbeat.

Nope. None. Nada. If someone left a million dollars under my pillow and took my 308, I would hunt another one down the same day...and keep the rest of that million to buy a yacht!

    Nope.

    Not. A. Chance.

    Way too much electronic CRAP.

PLUS the 308 looks better and better with every new model introduced.

Since the F40 Ferrari has been in a long exterior 'design nap.' But Ferrari did at least 'Try' to wake up with the 488.

Between the F40 and 488, I'd only buy Lamborghini.

NO from me, because many, many years ago, I ALMOST made a terrible mistake, my 1971 Dino246gt, straight up even trade for a slightly USED Mercedes 450SL, you know the cars the Ewings drove on Dallas! SURE glad I passed on that one! I thought about it because the Merc was newer and more up to date. Now I don't care about any of that, I LOVE the "Outdated-ness" of my 308 and sure miss the Dino! Imagine if I still had that Dino, or that Mercedes???? I love the 488, just like I loved the 458 when it was the latest, and before that the 430, but newness leaves every time a newer model is introduced. So I keep my OLD Ferrari and experience NEWNESS in a new Audi every 3 years, WAY less expensive that way!

    You make some good points.
So did you change your Dino for a 308 at some stage?

Nope.Vetro/Early Carb cars have already overtaken 328/348/355/360/430 and even merging towards 458 levels not to mention 456/550/575,and heading towards 599 .

I would have to blink though if a CS/Scud/16m/Speciale or any limited edition was on offer! Unlikely to ever happen of course.

How many folks regretted trading a Dino?

I would trade my 328 GTB for a used 488 GTB. Maybe one day. Not a huge fan of the engine, nor all of the styling. But trying a modern era Ferrari would be fun.

F430's are great cars too but the styling isn't aging well for me. I prefer the sharper shapes of the recent cars. Kind of like the 308! :)

Vetro, yes. Everything else is worth less than an average first year 20k mile 458 ($160k). At this moment, even the lowest priced 599s ($130k+) are higher than the other variants (outside of extreme low mile museum pieces....maybe).

A more interesting proposition is would you trade for a 550? There are a fair share of 550s sub-$130k.

GTO shares with 308 a ton of parts. Some: Crankshaft, lights, glasses, steering column, dashboard, and so on.

Did Ferrari officially name it initially the "308 GTO" or just that Swiss dealership?
