Took my 3 month old 1999 360 F1 to CMP roadcourse here in S.Carolina today with SCCA club.It is a blast to drive at speed and even with my very limited track experience was easy ( IMHO ) to drive although I was certainly only at 7/10's .I let my 18 yr old ( Honda Prelude )take 9 laps with her ( I didnt know I could hold my breath for 12 minutes ) and he was smoother than I would have guessed. The PROBLEM happened twice when my traction control ASR light came on without warning even though it was not on at the time. Both times came just as I had gotten a little out of shape and corrected. What could have happened to cause this with control off ?? It took a few seconds to get it to go off--not the best of situations with a new ( to me ) car and a track I had never seen before.Am taking her in to Ferrari of Atlanta for capristo exhaust install in 2 weeks and I guess they can hook it up to the computer and diagnose but wondered if this had happened to any of your cars ? Another strange thing happened when I got home --as I was washing the car ater the hour drive home the car beeped 3 different times 10 minutes after I had turned it off.Once was the 1 beep lock mode and twice was the double beep unlock start mode--Weird. Is this some ************ from car to owner thanking me for letting her loose for the day or a more serious ( $$$ ) problem. Car had major belt service 3 1/2 months ago and has new battery.Still grinning Buddy

Are you sure the asr was off? Every time you start the car, asr gets activated, even if it was in the off position before you shut off. Once you turn it off itshould stay off. I have never had this problem.

The chirping of alarm could be due to your alarm battery going out... does the little led on the left stay on when you start the car? Usually it comes on and as soon as you light up the engine it goes out. If the battery is going out the led stays on.

Thanks, you were correct the traction control was on and I did not realize it until i got sideways a couple of times at the track.I didnt realize it had to be switched off every time it was started--should have read the manual.Still not sure about the beeps--hasnt happened again.Cant wait for the next track event.
