yeah yeah yeah...ok....but he's right about resale values, isn't he? Lambos, long term, seem to hold their value better than the equiv ferrari of its day

what would be the ratio of ferraris to lambos (in the same sort of price range) sold? i would have thought there was a lot more F cars sold and so more available 2nd hand. just a thought.

    yes...definitely...and that's a huge part of it.

in 15 years there are going to be heaps of 360/430 around and a Gallardo will be rare in comparison....so yes NOW the G is taking a hit, but how will the price stack up in 15 years. Similar performance, both have stunning looks in different ways, one is everywhere, one is rare.

yeah well it's sort of logical really, if two cars come in at a similar price point but there's only 1/10th of one of them seen on the street then yeah...

so the big hit with the 360 will more likley be when the replacement for the 430 arrives? lambos have always been made in fairly small numbers. doesn't the Gallardo already have the highest production? should we all be buying low mileage Gallardos that have already taken the hit and saving them for a rainy (or not) day?

IIRC they hit 3,000 a couple months ago. compared with the next most whored out L-car Diablo of which i think around 2,900 were made in 10 years of production.

well take the Countach and Boxer as an example, Boxers are what , $120-180K depending on condition and Countachs can be had for $105-180K (I could have bought an early Countach for $105k from European Autos on the Coast and have seen several for $160-180K)

Muiras are going for crazy prices but then Daytonas have always been highly prized with associated prices.

More to the point, how much does it cost to restore one over the other as this is what happens to most after they are bought ?

I think that is the main reason they may never see better than new prices, unless inflation kicks in somewhere along the line and people's incomes increase accordingly to the stage that $400k is about 6 months salary for the average Joe.

Err, Im on Lpower and alot of G owners arent happy that there $200k G's are worth $50k less 12mths later I dont see how the G will hold better in the long run, they are making alot and most are going to the states.

If u follow Allans posts on Lpower he likes to **** stir alot and most posts he will post here will be antiFerrari :)
