Incredible! Think of all the lost smiles this could have had!! http://www.ferrarichat.com/ferrariads/showproduct.php?product=902&sort=1&cat=11&page=1
I was thinking the same thing. My red/black '88 with 20,000 miles looks the same. With the extra miles, I also got all books, tools, original window sticker plus a few more rock chips for about half the price.
Thats what I thought. Black is a tricky color to photograph especially rubbery stuff. But even the pedals look slightly worn which would be impossible at 265 miles. This car is a doomed garage queen; Everything is original which means all the rubber needs to be replaced all the seals and gaskets most likely need to be replaced and it may have rust inside the transmission .... because it hasn't been driven. Who would want to spend that money when they can buy a MUCH cheaper car and restore it, (like I am doing Helmut
Yes it does look a bit weathered.....I just bought a 1989 328 GTB with 4,310 miles and the interior on mine looks way better than the one in the picture on the 250 mile 328.....
Mine has 20,000 miles and looks better (mine is black/black). Explain to me....The guy has this car, never drives it, yet he finds it necessary to install that shield on the rear! Its not even centered. The interior seems worn, and where are the pictures of the engine? With 265 miles I would love to see the underside. It "should" be "as new". I have three black cars. Black is very hard to photo. The photos of black, especially when its not metallic, tend to reflect light and it gives the illusion that there are scratches that aren't there.
What a WASTE !!! It never ceases to amaze me why Folks buy Ferraris and DO NOT Drive them ! If you want something Beautiful to LOOK at, buy a Picasso !
Hello, I posted the low mile car on Ferrari ads. I decided to wait and address some of the responses, so I am not posting 10 times a day. Why $95k, this was based on previous cars sold with similar mileage. Rock chips on the hood? your guess is a good as mine (trucking? I hope not, I would have sent enclosed). I regret not waiting for the car to be detailed, but I had to post some pictures, my error. I would have posted more, but was only able to post 3 pics. I will be more than happy to e-mail more detailed pictures to anyone that wants more. As far as wear on the pedals I have to take a better look, when I see the car again. The SF Emblem was there, I make it a habit of not taking emblems off of peoples Ferraris. The car went through a complete major service on 07/2005, I am sure every issue and then some were addressed because the car runs like new and does not leak a drop of oil. I will be more than happy to answer any questions. Marko
Personally, I think that the interior looks brand new. Black is SUPER hard to get to look good in photos, unlike tan. I think that most people who think that the car looks worn in photos would take back their words if they see it in real life. After seeing some black interiors in pics and real life, this looks like a 200 mile car to me. As far as the shield, I can't tell if it's off center. It's certainly not lined up with the "2" but when were those ever centered? Personally, I wouldn't pay $95k for it but I am pretty sure that someone will pay a lot for it. low mile '88.5 and '89 328s have been trading at very high prices. FWIW, a brand new (delivery mile) 1989 328GTB sold last year for around $80k.
That car had 265 miles on it when the speedo was disconected. No way it has that milage. The pedal alone are a give away. That vintage of cars were so easy to 'clock'. It still may be a good car....just not worth $95K. You had better 'really' want a 328 if you spend 95K....'cause you aren't getting your money out of it!
With all due respect to you guys, you can't tell anything from Pics. I see shadows on the pedals, not wear. Put it up on a lift and you'll be able to tell pretty quick if it's truly a time capsule. Regarding time capsule 89 328's: There are a lot of them becuase the market was red hot in 89-90. It was not unusual for 89 328's to be priced 175K! As a result, a lot were put away as "investments". Slowly, owners have been taking their lumps and putting them on the market. I have personal knowlege of 2 89's with less than 200 miles beinig put back in service in recent years. One now has 6K+ and the other 1K+. Neither has suffered any storage related problems (or any problems for that matter). The "garage queen" syndrome is highly exagerated. We should be thankful to investors for bestowing on us many like new 328's for our pleasure today. Dave
last year i purchased an '89 328 gts with 3,011 miles on it...all incredibly well documented...i paid $72,000 for it and now drive it on a regular basis...i figure even if i put 30,000 miles on it i can still sell it for $50,000...ergo, i will have driven a virtually brand new ferrari for several years for only $22,000...you have got to love these cars...
blu328 - The nicest thing about this car is that everything works, the doors open and close like a feather, just a beautiful thing to see, especially if you never had the opportunity to look at a new one in 1989 (like myself). I have seen many exceptional survivor cars and this is one of them. I don't doubt that there are many 308/328 out there that are in excellent condition that have more miles and are cheaper $, these people take care of their cars and are proud of them. This car is just an example of someone's care and enjoyment, that is being passed on to the next owner. sherpa23 - There is a very good possibility that the 89 328GTB came from the same collection as this 89 328GTS. Ingenere - I don't think that was the case with this car. The car is very well known and has never had the mileage questioned. You should come down and take a look at it. hardtop - Shadows and a little dusty, hard to keep dust off your feet in the desert! psmaia - I could not agree with you more I attached some pictures i took from what little time I had, sorry for quality and lack of focus, but I only had a few minutes. I will include exterior/Interior pics after a detail (won't make that mistake again)! To Be Continued..... Not New! Just a very well taken care of car with respect to its mileage and age. It is hard to find a 17 year old car with 300 miles to begin with, let alone one that you could jump in and drive across the country. It's cool to look at the original tires (date code 89) with tons of tread - no flat spots - no cracks, original brake pads with 99% life left, or no rock blasting in the wheel wells. The exterior and the interior are not "new" either, but as close as you can get (those damn ROCKS).
