Wow Penske really is having a pisser of a year

I have concerns, was it the women who initially called the police and if so why did they declined to press charges?? Was it because they foundout they are rich Penske 'heathens' and feel they could get a sweet "out of court paycheck" to keep this off the Penske's records? I applaud their concern/dismay especially if they are paying members of said club.

 

Allmendinger, Mayfield, Unser Jr, his sons, Helio's tax problems....Roger seems to have lots of problems surrounding him. At some point you ask what the common element is....

 

Why would any woman (or man for that matter) approach a drunk guy taking a wiz? There's gotta be more to the story but that just seems very odd to me. Heck, they might have startled the poor guy and that was his best means of self defense at the time...shoot first, ask questions later.

I forgot Belle Isle is Roger's deal now, funny that half the Indycar events are promoted by the teams (this one and all the Andretti races...Milwaukee, Baltimore, etc)

 

It's Penske's annus horribilis.

Roger's sons are rich kids acting like jerks, that doesn't make him one. Any of your sons ever do something stupid, get arrested(or should have)? People living in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Lay off.

 

if they were teenagers (or even college kids) I'd agree. but they're in their 30s.

 

Yup, the whole thing is strange, I know one of his Son's out here in the OC, and he seems like a total Gentleman.

 

One of the two sons in this story or another one? I personaly do not think this incident reflects badly on Roger one bit because I have always had the utmost respect for Roger simply because you can tell by the way he handles himself. He is a fierce competitor but more more importantly a man of morals who believes in playing fair and admits fault.

His two son's are adults yet then again as mentioned the true facts of the incident are not known and may never be. I just hope that they learn a valuable lesson from this and atleast they did not get behind the wheel, hopefully this incident was an eye opening event and will never be repeated.

 

I'm available for adoption if the Captain wants to upgrade his kids.

To me the multiple 'team' concept is a waste of time,money and effort. Give me one team and two drivers and the focus they have. INDYCAR aswell as NASCAR have both fallen into the "points" mud pit which in reality is just an effort for an owner to acquire more 'ownership points' thus securing his placement without any real performance factors factored in.

I miss real racing!

 

the bigger problem to me is the concentration of power at the top of American motorsports. there are really only 8 teams that control Indycar and NASCAR.

Penske (both)
Ganassi (both)
Andretti (Indy)
Henrick (NASCAR)
Childress (NASCAR)
Gibbs (NASCAR)
Roush (NASCAR)
MWR (debatable, but has the $$, connections and now the talent) (NASCAR)

if you don't drive for one of those teams, your odds of winning decrease dramatically; and we all saw what happened to CART when the owners got too much power and started exercising it.

 

And rumblings of Andretti soon falling into the "both" group...not to mention his/their efforts as a promoter/organizer.
