I do NOT know this car, and you can't tell very much from the pictures, looks like a front end impact, but it's got speedline wheels and the rear end looks fine, same with the interior.

Indicates "salvage" title, but looks rebuildable unless there is major frame damage.

Shows "not available yet" and last update was 8/17, but I thought I would post anyway.

Good example of why we do not want to crash our cars. Because of availability of parts, time to repair and cost of repair they get totaled with very little damage.

Offer 2500 , rape it, and sell the parts, I would not pay a penny more.

Yes and get loss of use while they think about it.

Looks more like an accident salvage that has had some work done to it, and is now being abandoned, to me -- no way the front hood is undamaged with that much damage to the front clip panel piece in front of it.

A good shop would straighten that metal. Seen it done a couple of years ago at a local shop. Very similar damage. Hammered, pulled heated, stretched..... Came out good as new with filler only needed to fill the file marks.

You are right but outside of the restoration industry not too many with that talent still working. And insurance companies don't like to pay the labor time to do it.
What is scaring off insurance companies is body shops estimating low enough to get the jobs, spending a bunch of money and stopping the job to find parts. Had this conversation with several adjusters. Job stops, car sits and owner is collecting loss of use for every day. Bill goes to the moon. The salvage value is often high enough its easier and cheaper to write a check and sell the car.

For me, I dont get too attached to cars. And at this point in my life its not worth waiting a year, deprived of use of the car to round up the needed parts and a year is not uncommon. Loss of use on a Ferrari is a big number. Write me a check and we are done. Typically their cheapest way out.

Not uncommon. Very often part way in parts issues raise their head, loss of use payments are piling up and insurance company rethinks decision to fix. Realizes this is going to cost far more than first promised by body shop and throws in towel.

Lose of use depends on who is at fault. Wreck your own car, good luck getting anything for loss of use.

Anyway, that car will probably end up in a small shop, banged out, and sold. Just hope who ever does it does it right. Looking at it there doesn't appear to be any structural damage. Probably slipped under a bumper. Doesn't take much to do that. Hit the brakes, 308 nose drops. Probably never touched the 308's bumper. Radiator/fans appears undamaged or minor puncture. Under $10k to fix.

If at Copart, good luck. They fork lift cars around, even ones that are fixable. There will probably be worse damage by the time it leaves.
