Kevin, do you recall someone saying a Stradale lost it off the Kapiolani Exit the morning of the Rally? I think this is that car. Looks like it went into a guardrail. Happened before the event started. My guess, not 100% positive...
This car belonged to my eye doctor, jeff maehara. Someone cut him off one sunday and he wrecked. The insurance company totaled the car and that's why it has a Hawaii salvage title
Wow...... FoH would have that damage fixed in no time, and 'fair play' for a real Challenge car..no big deal. Very sorry to hear of his accident, and as a street car, it's totalled. Sad, really as for a machine, it's got 5K miles!!! And that interior id beautiful.
More likely an occupant hitting it?? The superficial aluminum damage des not look enough to cause structural damage. No "tub" on a 360, it's all glued extrusions and hub node castings. The dealer here has repaired some really sad cases.
The first thing I did after seeing the Ebay auction is look up the cost of the major replacement parts from aftermarket suppliers or salvage yards. Assuming there is no suspension or chassis damage underneath the car, it looked like a replacement front bumper, rear bumper, rear diffuser, passenger side door, and passenger rear quarter panel could be obtained for about $10k, then add the paint and body work on top of that. This car would be a great project for one of the mechanically skilled members of the forum!
I dunno.....#125 - 135K??? I have not followed the market lately. Red ones were $150 - 175K for a long time, they are below that, now.
Don't forget the mirror! $$$ Buy it now is 69,900. If you were going to keep for the long haul would be a really nice project! I don't know how the right rear suspension and drivetrain could have not been damaged with that hard hit though. Those are not the wheels from the crash.
