Wrecked 93 512TR 8k miles (anyone know what happened)

WoW ! That really sucks.
I hope the driver was OK. Looks like it was hit by a train while crossing a railroad track.

That is the car that killed the passengers, one or both being CHP or police officers. Crash occurred in Agoura Hills. Car left the road and landed on it's roof.

 

It looked like it was a beautiful exterior/interior color combination.

Other than possibly the hood and the wheels there doesn't look to be anythign salvagable on the exterior or interior.

Engine compartment looks pretty straight, thus I would think the engine/trans might be ok, but really...other than that what could you save on this car?

Was in LA and there was a young CHP officer killed. Don't remember about his passenger, though.

Dam, thats almost complete anihilation, the front hood & headlights look like the only body panels that were not hit. Did it roll after hitting the tree ?

The guy was speeding and he came over a rise thus making it difficult to steer around a curve. He lost control hit a tree(or pole) thus causing the car to flip and catch on fire. Both guys were killed.

 

I remember that it was awful, i'm surprised its being sold, there doesn't look like much salvageable from that

 

Tragic story. It's never good to hear of fellow Tifosi who pass in an accident (or anyone else, of course).

 

When someone says a car is totaled. This is it. I don't know what is worth buying. Maybe an engine/tranny. I'm wondering if it hasn't been damaged too.

 

I wonder how many times prior to this accident he may have been pulled over for speeding/reckless driving, and simply identified himself as CHP and was told "have a good evening" and never given a citation?

 

If anyone is curious we bought the car from the insurance auction. It will be dismantled for parts. Surprisingly there is still a lot of useable parts, drivetrain, suspension, some misc. body pieces, Tubi exhaust. I did not know about the history of the car until after I bought it. Very sad story.

Ryan, Out of curiosity--Do you guys try to repair any of the metal, parts, etc and sell it or just scrap anything that is bent or broke??
