Just found out that the ground clearance is out of spec on my car. I am preparing to change to H&R springs and wanted to document the settings in case I want to go back to original springs again. It seems like the previous owner has changed the ride height for some reason, or could it be wrong from factory (not very likely, I would assume).

According to the manual, the setting in front measured from the lower suspension arm bolt should be 162-171 mm in front and 182-191 mm in the rear. When measuring my car the front seems ok with an on spec height of 165 mm. The rear however is 202 mm, well over 10 mm more than expected (original rims and tires).

In what way would the higher rear affect the handling? The change in rake would mean more over steer and the higher rear more body roll, I would guess.

Since I am changing to H&R spring, adding 11 mm spacers all around and am planning to lower the car, what setting should I now go for?

I read an article on delta vee motorsports webb and an owner of a 355 CH had 135 in front and 160 in the rear. Would that be a reasonable starting point with the new H&R springs? If I were to follow the specs of the new springs I would lower the car by 30 mm in front and 20 mm in rear. From standard setting that would mean 135 in front and 165 in rear.

Any suggestions or ideas on how to proceed
