Found in the Wall Street Journal:

"...Recently, two of Michael Sheehan's clients came to him looking to sell their Ferraris in a hurry -- an unusual request. "They needed cash now," says Mr. Sheehan, a longtime Ferrari broker in Newport Beach, Calif. The cars, a $110,000 1982 Berlinetta Boxer and a $950,000 1972 Daytona Spyder, wound up selling for about 25% less than they would have sold for just a few months ago."

$325k...I think not. Just look at the prices being asked at the moment. There are quite a few very, very good 365's for sale and none of them stand a chance of getting much more than $200k. In Europe, you'd be lucky to secure EUR150k (very close to the market peak of EUR160k a few months ago), which equates to US$178k today.

heard it from a well known Ferrari repair shop in Venice, Ca by the owner, he said it was on Speed Channel last night or the other, I confirmed it was a 365BB not Daytona

Sheehan needs to stick with the old rust bucket hot running front engine V12s he's so fond of IMO and stay away from BBs after all he doesn't like them

One or two sales, does not set the market price. At the same time, one or two bargains, does not either.

Only 365BB sold by RM was the blue one at Maranello in May, as far as I know of. But I'm not saying it didn't happen - all I'm saying is if it did, the price is in a different universe from any other 365BB sold in the last 12 months that I have been able to confirm sale price of.

Thinking I will only sell mine if the wolves are ever at the door which fortunately they are not of if it can be "upgraded" to another carbed BB of which I am aware of that is in minty condition. Only problem with that car is that I may be afraid to drive it thus ruining its pristine condition. The irony.
The best Boxer is one that can be driven.

Could not agree more - I was tempted by a 512bb (when I bought the 365) that looked flawless but it was just a little TOO nice. My 365 will be (and has been) driven, no doubt about it. Mind you, that 512 would make a good brother to the 365... I can see them sitting in the garage now! :D

on a side note, looking at a SCM from '97 sheehan discuses how much he likes Dinos and what a great affordable Ferrari they are, Dinos are Dinos or more Fiats IMO not Ferraris, he has a pic in his section of himself didn't know he was the spitting image of Burt Reynolds from Boogie Nights complete with beard and glasses :) ha ha
