Hey guys I’m starting my hunt for a 348 Berlinetta. I am really hoping to get a GTB from Europe but it’s pretty expensive to ship here right now. So I thought I would see if anyone here is planning on selling their car before I make that jump.
    I’m looking for:
Red on black or tan. Maybe would consider a blue car.
    Berlinetta only.
Car has to be exceptional !……exterior/interior and mechanically.
    Later car with updated motronic.
Would prefer 25k miles or less.

Do all US cars have the mouse belts?

    Thank you
    Jerry

Canadian 348s have no mouse belts (2.5 and 2.7) and are more likely to be found with a black interior - if that's what moves you. Also, when I was looking or my 348 I discovered that in Canada the ratio of TBs vs. TSs is far higher than in the US.

I suggest looking through Canadian used car web sites as well as high-end dealerships such as Caliber Automobiles and, obviously, Ferrari dealers.

Thanks asgor I have been doing that actually. But I’m not sure what the main car sites are up there and if I’m hitting the right ones.

Personally, I found autotrader.ca to be the most useful.

Have you gotten a shipping quote from Europe? What's the rate these days for a dedicated container?

I would get some more shipping quotes, I would expect circa 16-18 grand two way so one way should be less.

Wow! Shipping prices really have jumped.

When I moved from US back to Europe in 2015, I got a two (2) cars (and some other stuff..) in 40ft container shipped around $6000 or so if my memory serves me right.

And should you be interested about Car Tetris:

I had three quotes from three companies.
    $12-15 all of them.
Would be only about $7500 if I do an open transport to the port and then share a container with another car. But then the car may have to sit a while till they find another car to ship it with.

If you know a company that’s cheaper please let me know.

My timing on this purchase is about 1 year too late.

Autotrader.ca has one for sale in Brampton Ontario.

$129K CAN is about $102K US, so perhaps the ask is a bit high?
Presumably it's a new listing, as there aren't many photos.

Oh yea that’s the guy that just offered it to me for $97 yesterday and when I went and got approved for a loan today and started getting shipping quotes he said “I need time to think I’m not fully convinced I’m letting this go”

Get the eff outta here. That's insane. My dedicated container in 2017 was $3200 and 36 days dock to dock. RoRo was about $1500-1700.

    I will contact them today.

Prices overall are going up, the cars will not get cheaper over time. Every month seems they go up, what sold in Feb was in Feb, the market today is what the market is.

I think the 348 is going to see air cooled 911 type of frenzy, if not more so. It's the last analog Ferrari that was sanctioned by the Man himself.. Nostalgia comes at a price. Buy now..

Any discussion on "last analog" sends 355 guys into a frenzy. The Motronic tips the 348 just past analog, probably abs too but is is more analog than the 355 but not by much. Correct answer is likely the 308 QV through 85, thought not without some lively debate. :)

Some people say the 360, saaaaayyy what???

Ethically, he shouldn't have listed it if he intended to refuse reasonable offers.
    Reasonable "and then some"

This could be a classic example of finally getting around to fixing all the flaws to get the best price on the market, and then wondering why you put all that time and expense into a car that is going to someone else.

Patience... patience... it took me a year and a half to find my 348TB, and that's even before they started brushing against "semi-special" status. Just because one potential sale fell through it isn't reason enough to distrust the whole private exotic car market.

In my case I worked with the seller for the whole year and a half until he was eventually ready to sell. It was complicated, time-consuming but ultimately rewarding. Not to mention I got a peach of a car.
