Guys and gals. My '95 F355 was delivered new without a radio. I would like to find the OEM blank plate that was there instead of a radio. So if you have one gathering dust or that you no longer need. Please contact me. Thanks. Part No. 64426700 Ferrari 355 (2.7 Motronic) PLATE FOR RADIO HOUSING The photo from the owner's manual, shows the part installed below the gauges and clock. Please disregard the a. Designator. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've heard it mentioned prior that US cars did not have a radio option in 95. Not sure I buy that coz my 95 has OEM speakers and I doubt someone installed them after.
Yes the cars came from the factory with speakers but no radio for '95. Heard it from the sales manager that handed the keys to my car's first owner. Crazy but true. Robb
I have a crap on you could possibly make it look like that. Mold a plat to the radio cut out and fill it with some filler then paint I'll bet it would work.
It has to be surfaced with the same stuff that's on the instrument cluster panel that gets all sticky and gooey.
In case you guys want to see an example of one: Robb I PM'd you on this Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's the radio delete panel in situ in my F355 Challenge. It appears to be aluminum covered with the same stuff used on the dashboard. It's got toggle switches for the left and right radiator fans and a shielded master ignition switch just like the bomb door explosive bolts switch on a B-52... So, is the panel a piece that goes into the radio slot? Or, is the surround different that has no radio slot at all?
It's just the panel that goes into the radio slot, Dave. Mine is made of either sheet metal or aluminum covered with leather like Llenroc illustrated. It's been a couple of years since I had that panel out to reorient the toggle switches. It might have originally been fiberglass and the sheet metal or aluminum substituted to better support the switches. I suspect the majority of these panels were discarded by the dealerships when they installed the radios. But that's how the Ferrari Factory shipped these cars to the dealerships in those days. The cars came with speakers and wiring installed. The radio/cassette/CD player was a dealer-installed option. My car was ordered destined to become a Challenge car. The radio wasn't installed and the panel was used for the required switches.
I have a good interior fabrication shop out here. Who has one we can copy for multiple extras (since so many '95's are missing theirs.) We'll figure out a way to thank you. Let me know. Robb
No it doesn't! besides I dont think anyone actually can replicate the factory crap and then get it to be sticky a few years later. They have it down to an art.
I just bought the last new one of these in existence for my 1994 348 Challenge. FNA sourced it for me. It came as new and it was evident that it had been on a shelf for 30 years. As soon as I opened the blister pack, the vinyl was peeling off of the plate and the crap Ferrari foam underneath was already crumbling from the dried out glue they used. I took it to my interior guy and he redid it with new foam and glue and it looks like a new part should. FYI.
I have purchased one! I will be taking it to my interior guy to duplicate for those that need one. I'm sure we can nail this. Robb
I have the radio delete plate in my 82 308 I wonder if its the same set up as this one? I never have taken it off But I think its just leather wrapped aluminum without any clips. Post pics when you get yours!
I don't think it's the same as the 355. The 348 plate sits inside a cubby and I think the screws are in a different place. That said, I think you could duplicate it without one and do better than the $60 I spent.
