I am looking for a yellow Challenge Stradale, with or without stripe. This would be my new personal car. I would also be interested in Titanium, and possibly other colors to a lesser extent. I am definitely not interested in either red.

I want private party cars only, no exceptions! I wish to buy only direct from the owner.

If anybody can help, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks,

    Tom

These cars are coming off of warranty and the new one should be introduced shortly. Should see some tankage soon.

Are you smoking something? Tankage? Most are off warranty already and still fetching north of 190K with 5K plus miles. New One, what new one? You mean the 430XX that more than likely will not be here in the states and make prices stay the same if not go up a bit.....

you could be right...if the new 430 scuderia has an MSRP about $200K and no markup.

720, want to be 360? I like your yellow CS. What can you really do with two that you can't do with one?

real money is 170k-180k for "mid" mileage cars.............coming from reliable source.

What are you considering 'mid' mileage? The only cars I have recently seen in that price range had a rather unfortunate story or the clock was past 15K miles.

Yep, this is what I'm hearing. Now, prepare for the onslaught from CS owners :)

    LOL.....you guys are funny.

Srf..........I "am" a CS owner..........and don't see that changing anytime soon.

Drew, let me elaborate. Mid mileage cars are cars between 5k and approximately 9-10k a year. Those figures are "wholesale" figures mind you..........assuming the dealer knows the car and its history well. This comes straight from the "horses" mouth. For the most part, I believe CS prices have and will continue to hold up well............even as the 430 LP looms closer and closer...................as I'm am sure Rick was being sarcastic when he mentioned the "new" car being msrp'ed at 200k and no mark up. Highly unlikely.

Dealer offerd me 185K for my Stradale with 7800 miles, private buyer a bit more. I can see 175-180K whole sale for a red, 5-8K miles CS but, Yellow, Black, Silver add 5K. So if replacement CS is north of 300K to obtain and MAKES it state side, you realy think prices will tank???

the stradale was a bargain (relatively speaking) back in 2004 when i paid about $195K or maybe $200K MSRP i think. i previously bought two 2002 modenas (both F1s) for around $160K MSRP. the stradale was around $35K or $40K more than a modena F1. but you got good value for the extra amount charged for a stradale:

    ceramic brakes
    19 inch wheels
    quicker F1 gearbox
    carbon fiber seats
    carbon fiber door panels
    carbon fiber side mirrors
    carbon fiber airboxes
    carbon fiber engine bay panels
    25 additional HP
stradale exhaust (nasty exhaust note no extra charge)
improved aerodynamics (diffuser wing structure, extended radiator intakes)
stiffer titanium springs (lower and stiffer than a modena)
    titanium lug nuts
    lexan engine bay cover
approximately 142 pounds lighter than a US modena

and icing on the cake is the stradale looks absolutely fantastic. very clean lines. looks fantastic in all colors. btw, it also is a blast to drive. very quick and responsive. feels like driving a race car on the street. yet it is surprisingly civilized when you drive it mildly around town.

i'm certain the 430 scuderia (or whatever) will be a fantastic car. i just think the MSRP is going to be quite a bit higher than a regular 430. i am going to guess that it will MSRP around $250K (maybe $275K). which is almost reasonable if they really make it special (like the stradale). but if demand is as high as i think it might be then i wonder how high the markup over MSRP will be? any guesses? do i hear $100K over? $350K for a 430 scuderia? that takes all the air out of my sails :) if you can buy a nice stradale for even $200K it is a relative bargain IMHO. but i own two stradales so maybe i'm not the best person to give this opinion. but i think stradale owners realize that these cars are very special.

i think this was the number ferrari published so it probably isn't accurate :) there was endless discussion on this topic in 2004 and i don't remember if the exact weight reduction was ever confirmed due to differences in the weight between euro modenas and US modenas and euro stradales versus US stradales. maybe someone else remembers the answer (or more likely it was never quite resolved :) regardless, the US stradale is lighter than the US modena which is good. AND a big part of the weight reduction was unsprung weight in that the ceramic rotors are significantly lighter than steel rotors. if you are going to reduce weight this was an excellent place to choose!

My 360 had its factory rotors swapped out for 2-piece Brembo rotors.
Each Brembo rotor is 11 pounds lighter than the factory counterpart, for 44 pounds less weight.

Not only did they perform better, but they also cost less to replace.

I still have the original 360 factory rotors in a box, if anyone wants them. They are so heavy that it is ridiculous.

i'm happy being 720...for now. but i might take a look at the 430 scuderia, and if the price is reasonable i might have to change to 790. my dealer has already told me that he has earmarked a 430 scuderia (or whatever) for me, but he expects me to trade back one of my stradales (probably my yellow one which i'd most likely replace with a yellow 430 scuderia).
