They have been ripping up Post Oak forever, and now just took out all the trees between the Galleria and Dillards, so that it looks like **** !
wtf are they doing over there, and why is it taking so damn long to finish? its awful !

then side question; wtf are they doing just south of there on Sage, and South Rice blvd, and the 2 parallel streets to the east - which i guess is the 610 north/south feeders, also under constant construction, such that the 4 most direct ways between bellaire and galleria are huge traffic cluster ****s every singe day all day !

very frustrating! and never mind that the only street in houston that was smooth, south rice below 59, has now been hacked up and made into a tire test area like richmond ! aaarrggghhh!

who is the moron in city planning that comes up with these genius ideas?? i want to throttle him !

They’re building dedicated bus lanes up Post Oak. Sorely needed in my opinion. I used to ride that bus to work and the traffic made it unreliable. I love being able to ride the bus to work. It makes the Ferrari much more fun to drive on weekends when you haven’t driven all week,

ok......well they could have put the dedicated bus lanes along the outside and avoided uprooting all the trees that gave the street such a nice aspect and some shade.

now it is just going to be a big ugly street with a dedicated bus lane.

the whole project was supposed to be done before Houston Super Bowl but got dragged by protests and litigation. The rendering looks good for the whole project. The are going to create a uptown district of course more tax dollars from folks living in that district. Hopefully it will be done soon but there is going to be a four year construction project for 69N and 610 N inter change. I am not looking forward to it.

Sadly, that area seemingly has been under some kind of construction for decades.

It is interesting that the richest areas in Houston have the absolute ****tiest roads that go through and around them.

And even though I don't go down there as much anymore, I've always loved that area for some reason. No rhyme or reason, I just like it.

Had a HPD captain tell me many years ago, the Galleria was one of highest crime areas because even though the bad guys are stupid, they know where the money is. I suspect this bus service will make things worse.

had thought about moving to the heights while back but never managed to convince my wife.
recently we have been thinking of getting something in the galleria area since we are here now and like it.
but we currently live just south of 59 and just west of the loop, so to get anywhere north has become a huge hassle, and seemingly will only get worse.

Yikes! I could not imagine living there right now. Westheimer all torn up as well west of Kirby. I avoid galleria area and 59&610 area as much as possible.

This is why I moved to Austin with my wife and daughter in August of 2016. I was so sick of the s***** Houston roads and huge traffic nightmare. Not to mention all the crime and Riff Raff. So now we're in Bee Cave, a western suburb of Austin near Lake Travis. Could not be any happier! Awesome, smooth, curvy roads, traffic's not bad out here, and the weather is really nice. I highly recommend it for houstonians that are fed up with the same old crap.

I also ride motorcycles, so this is a dream come true for me. It was actually dangerous riding motorcycles in Houston along the horrible bumpy roads. You could lose your life easily falling into one of the potholes, haha!
